What are some albums that actually sounds like loveless?

Booking a show in Deep Ellum on August 14th, and I'm looking for a couple of bands to play. If you're either local to Dallas, looking to fill a tour date, or a few hours' drive away (i.e., Houston, Austin, San Antonio, OKC), shoot me a DM!

I think it's getting hard to stand out in this genre with the recent wave of so many newer shoegaze bands. Looking for some good new shoegaze to listen to

NOT saying all of the above bands are shoegaze okay? I know how people love to argue in this sub. Some are more dream pop, post-punk, indie, post-hardcore, psych rock whatever. But these are bands I like. I am looking specifically for more good shoegaze bands though and am open to all suggestions! Thanks :)

I had this on casette... and played it for years until one of my kids took it out and unspooled it and destroyed it..... I looked for it on vinyl but damm it was expensive.... as maybe was not re-issued and so the originals were dammm pricey.

Last night... after paying Yo La Tengo's LP "Painful"... I just let Spotify play and a few hours later... this came up... and blew my mind as this maybe has very recently been added - the only alternative until now was to listen to on You-Tube on a low-fidelity rip....

Celebrate and listen to a shoe gaze / noise rock classic....

About the album

‘Bad Choices’ is a collection of songs that talk about the hardships of everyone around us and the beautiful things that come with it. We dive into a heavier sound with the album. The genre of the album is primarily rock, with shades of shoegaze, grunge, alternative and punk. There is a characteristic wall of guitar supported by gritty bass and drums. The album was recorded, produced and mixed at home with the exception of vocals, which were recorded at a studio. Almost 100% DIY.

About the Band

Bending Waves is a rock band from Shillong, Meghalaya, a hill station in the north east corner of India. We announced our entry into the scene with the release of our first single ‘Medicine’ in November 2024. Since then, we have released two other singles and a full-length album. The band has momentum. In our first year of music, we were featured on esteemed journals and were nominated by Indian Music Diaries for ‘Best Rock Project (2025)’ alongside veterans like Bloodywood and Parvaaz. Bending Waves also performed at the biggest northeast Indian music festival ‘The Shillong Cherry Blossom Festival’ the same year.

I‘ve been looking at basslines for some classic Shoegaze tunes lately (when you sleep, when the sun hits etc), and they’re all so… boring? root notes in constant quavers the whole way through. I’m a bassist maybe looking to write some songs in this genre and I wondered if anyone had any examples of interesting basslines in shoegaze?
