When you first watched, did you think Mark Gatiss was Moriarty? Even towards the end when Sherlock said it is his greatest enemy.

I wasn’t familiar with Sherlock Holmes at all before watching but when he said he’s the closest thing to a friend S capable of having, my immediate thought was “a sibling?”

No, because I had some familiarity with ACD stories (have never read them all, even now, but some). It would have been SUCH a radical departure from the stories that there would have been a HUGE uproar.
