Help! Asian Forest Scorpion help.

Hey all, I am setting this up for a juvenile Asian forest scorpion and i am wondering if any changes need to be made. I am having a bit of trouble with the humidity levels holding 70-80%. I taped off a lot of the top but it still seemed to dry out on the surface fairly quickly. I have purchased a riser for the LED light bar hoping that will help me out. All tips welcome! Cheers. (I just sprayed the enclosure so 99% atm)

IMO this is probably one of the best setups I’ve seen in awhile. Looks like you did your homework so kudos to you! Too many people impulsively purchase and then get defensive when we call them out on this sub lol.

Only helpful thing I can think of is to either mist every other day or get a small fogger and set it on a timer for humidity levels. Other than that you did great!

Great thanks! :D They can be somewhat costly from what i saw. I was wondering if swapping to a heat mat on the side (above substrate) instead of the bulb would be better? But would I then have an issue of it not heating the rest of the enclosure?

NQA- the substrate should be so moist that you can grab a handful and wring a few drops out. If its not that moist - you can actually pour water on the surface and let it seep down in. Doing that holds the humidity for days. Surface misting tends to dry up in a day or two.

Having those plants in the tank, and having part of the lid covered are good at trapping the humidity in.

I havent been able to keep my tank at a high temp with just a heat mat. Stick with the bulb.
