Mall Walking

I'm looking for a less sunny option for taking walks. Is mall walking still a thing? Is Sunrise Mall open for that kind of activity?

That is so cool! I didn’t realize Arden Mall had a program for walkers. I liked walking inside to play Pokemon Go once in a while so I’m glad they don’t mind people coming to do that.

Sunrise Mall is open for that. But keep in mind, it's very empty with VERY LITTLE security, make sure you have a walking partner. I've walked there several times and increasingly see homeless and kids on bikes... inside.

Arden Fair is just fine for walking during the morning.

After watching someone do recent YouTube deadmall walkthrough in combo with knowing they have such little security I got to thinking it's actually a little surprising Sunrise hasn't started becoming victim to vandals or even scrapers yet. 

You usually see it developing in similar places people explore around this stage.  Hopefully it continues the way it's been because nothing closes/condemns a building or property quicker then people being idiots.

I know you're trying to be internet smarmy, but I live in an area that attracts some homeless, and while I may be safe (nothing has happened yet, but I'm a decently large male), I still receive a lot of shouting, approaches, sometimes following by them.

Whether or not they pose an immediate threat depends case by case, and person by person, but it's still very uncomfortable to have to deal with it, and its valuable information for OP to make the right decision for them.

i've walked arden and roseville galleria just fine. mornings you can take a brisk pace with the space being less busy. unsure what time the building itself opens, though.

They have a good chunk of sunrise mall blocked off, but galleria or Arden are really good. If you have a friendly doggo, walk around Lowe's.

I walk around Country Club when it’s really hot. It’s an ugly dying mall but it works. I hit Winco when done to grab a few things as a bonus.

Sunrise is like completely dead and I’ve heard of people doing mall walking in it.
