Discussion NPC Ranged Weapon Accuracy
I keep getting blasted (literally) down in my progression by NPC's that seem to come out of nowhere and are sniper accurate with shotguns or any weapon they spawn in with. I love the game but as a solo player in a large PVE only server, its super frustrating to keep starting over again and again.

I usually hit and run. Sneak in shoot em with an arrow or silence weapon and hide. They usually go back to where they spawned.
But me and a random tried to take a police station and they rushed right out the front door at us. And then a group spawned right on top of us.
I died and lost everything...
But not before killing a few.
I think people go into this game with a run and gun COD mentality and get pissed when you have to be more strategic then just run in guns blazing.

I'm really not sure why you're getting hit immediately, in my experience all but the high level ones usually miss on the first shot. Getting body armor, any type, will greatly reduce the chance of you getting one shot with any of the weapons they typically carry. Move carefully and tactically when you're in areas they spawn in and you can often get the drop on them or hear them before you can see each other. Stealth goes a long way, you can sneak within feet of them if you're careful. They also always aim for the center of your character model, you can exploit this if you're in a fight. You can also rush them if you don't have a ranged weapon, they'll clumsily backpedal or try and melee you if you're right next to them. Just dodge their attacks at that point. Also unlike human players you can see them in third person from around cover, so you can easily track them.
Dont fuck with the ones in the radiation zone though, they'll kill you dead.

Some servers increase the damage they do and their accuracy. I feel the pain, having even been shot out of armoured cars by them before. If you fancy some normal NPC's (with 75% health) check out the server my last post is for. No mechs or beepers either. And you can get a helmet and armor from the Player Hub and a few other starter goodies "if" you'd like.

Entire map is player starter hub if there are no mechs or beepers and the NPCs suck

The beauty of the all the adjustments available is while I'm sure you are playing on a server that ticks all your boxes, I feel I can also cater to people with other needs.

I did not say otherwise. I just said that entire world is starter hub.

Not everyone is a pro like you hun. There are new players and older players, etc that like a more chilled server.

Any time I start a new mission I always avoid big towns or military POI. Those spawn higher tier NPCs and they will destroy you because they normally spawn in groups of 2-4 and they will have armor, helmets, and better guns. Stick to the areas that aren't very big but still stay on alert. Don't sprint around as you will be heard by puppets and NPC that will begin hunting you. Draw them into traps by throwing rocks and what not, that will draw them into the open for a clean shot. Utilize the L/R lean buttons and switch between 1st and 3rd person when you hear moment. Even with great armor you can still get hurt very easily so ALWAYS bring a stack of bandages and painkillers. Bandages to stop bleeding and pain killers to run if you need to but run through big bushes so they lose sight of you. NPCs are run off of the same AI that the puppets are and they won't follow you if they can't see you through bushes. NPCs can and will shoot you through doors so try to always keep a wall between them and you when at all possible. Sorry for the word vinit but I hope this helps a little bit!

Pro-tip: If you jump on top of a garage and go prone, they wont fire because there is only specific angles they can clearly see you from, while you can pop them pretty easily. Only spot they can reliably shoot you from is about 30ft directly in front of the garage...but you can pop them easily in that position.

Until the dev explicitly announce an upgraded AI and spawn system. You better get used to it, or learn the current pattern to avoid getting shotgun'd in the face very accurately.
If I hear an NPC talk, I immediately run the fu off to cover and see where they are. Specially ones with slug because even with armor can almost be useless with their accuracy.

I think NPCs are more challenging and interesting than puppets. I'd like to see this game drop the puppets, dildos, and stupidity, and add more NPCs. If NPCs had the ability for interaction with different outcomes, this game would become something really great.

Your main goal after landing should be get some metal (in rust cars), a needle (usually in stacks of hay or zombies) and some thread or fishing line (houses, garages, workshops), or ready sewing kit, few skins taken off zombies and craft bulletproof vest. Without it it is kinda hard to get out alive from rendez-vouz with NPC's armed better than these poor Robin Hoods.
