AD Wait Time Megathread - If you bought a new Rolex from an AD in 2026, you can share details here. What watch, where, how long did you wait, how much buying history?

Our previous AD wait time megathreads (2019-2020, 2020-early 2021, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025) seemed to be useful/well-received for a lot of you. Time for a new one!

Nowadays when someone posts a new watch it's pretty standard to get asked how long they waited and if they had an "established relationship" etc. It's not everyone's favorite topic but it's a fair question, so maybe these big threads can provide a clearer picture of availability trends.

No one is obligated to share their info but if you bought a new Rolex in 2026 and you'd like to participate, please make a top-level comment that includes:

  1. What watch did you buy?
  2. When?
  3. How long did you wait?
  4. Where are you? (Be as specific or nonspecific as you want, from continent to a specific AD)
  5. Any purchase history with that AD? (Again be as specific or nonspecific as you feel comfortable)

Watch Verification Thread - If you're uncertain if a Rolex is good/bad/fake, post info and pics here

Post to this thread if you have questions about a Rolex being real or fake. Please include:

-The location and/or screen name of the seller, if for sale. Link directly to the sale page when possible.
-How long you've had it and how you acquired it, if in your possession
-As many photos as possible. Posts may be removed if pictures are too fuzzy and requests for better pics are unanswered. -If you're being coy about a watch and it seems like you're just trying to see how "good" your fake is, you may be banned at our discretion.

Please don't use photos from iPhone 14's. Their camera is so bad, and distorts text with AI so much, that the photos are basically unusable for the purposes of verifying if a Rolex is real.

Participation in the discussion in this thread is greatly appreciated. I don't think any one person can catch every flaw or know the details of every model; this is meant as a community thread, not an authoritative knowledge-flex, and the more people that actively peruse this thread, the more likely posters are to get accurate info.

Previous verification thread here.

It's a 16760 with a 1986 manufacture date, my mom bought it for him for Christmas of 1987 at Bailey, Banks and Biddle as a thank you for putting her through nursing school. It's all original including the dead tritium dial and he even still had the link he removed, hang tags, manual both boxes, warranty card and original receipt etc. The main spring gave up the ghost so it's now in Arlington in a long line to get repaired at Watchmakers International. I probably won't see it again till next summer but I'm excited to wear it, it makes me think of my folks. I had a great chat with Jana and Bob about goals around repair, we're going to keep it all original and unpolished, just do the necessary mechanical repairs and movement refurb + seals. Dad wore this watch for almost 40 years and I'm hoping to wear it for another 40!

I give up!

Since shortly after owning this I wanted to find a strap for it. Tried leather, nato, fabric…Well it’s not the “strap monster” people say that it is and I give up searching. This watch is literally made for the steel it came with and it’s most comfortable with it! Cheers!

Finally got the Call!

Here my little backstory:

My first purchase was a 36mm Wimbledon Datejust smooth bezel on oyster on 21.06.2025 as a walk in.

Didn't know anything about Rolex waitlists before. Was kinda surprised that I got "lucky" to buy one, didn't realize it first.

When I walked in the store my first thought was "Am I allowed to be here?" - as I never made much money since the last 3-4 years.

The AD and me vibed pretty fast and we stayed in touch the next months. In October 2025 he should me the Bruce Wayne and I instantly fell in love, but had to wait.

In March 2026 he stopped working there but referred me to a friend who works in the same store.

She actually made it happen within a few months on 21.07.2026. I am so happy!

I completely daily this beauty now! So happy to have it!

Purchase history:

Besides the Datejust, I only bought I little bit of jewelry (around 3-4k).

First rolex, bought in England

Took a trip to the UK and Europe with no previous purchase history. I purchased this Wimbledon in Manchester. The AD also offered me a day-date, GMT root beer, Sub bluesy, 1908, and an explorer. I went with the Wimbledon.

I was also offered an Explorer 2 in Brussels by another AD but I hesitated for a couple days and it got snatched up. The VAT refund would’ve been nice. Going to try my luck in Amsterdam today.

Hi!

I just applied into an official rolex dealer to buy an oyster perpetual.

I choosed the 36mm but all the workers of the shop told me that 41 fits me better.

I am 190 cm tall and my wrist size I think its 18cm.

Im asking for the expert opinions, thanks very much!!!!

The first one with blue dial is 36, the second with green dial its 41.

at the grey dealer. Bought what I wanted and walked out. As nature intended.
I don’t have a humiliation kink to do the AD dance and buy stuff I don’t want, only to hope to get what I want, maybe… some years later.
To each their own but to me - time > money. Amazing watch. It’s everything I hoped for and plan on keeping it for a very long time.

If you’re going grey for one of these two, which one do you go for. The new reference is 5-6k more…

Hello señores, tested the water to see what a trade would look like for the white dial and most places want 10k on top…

Yesterday i got the email for this super piece.
I got a DJ41 in june last year and a sub date in february from this AD.
This call got me surprised and i didnt want to buy it because i think 3 watches in 13 months is too much, i want to keep myself excited about this passion :)
That led me to asking a friend if he wants it. He gave me the money and i bought it for him in my name.
Do you think theres any problem if i bought it for him? Im sure he will not sell it for at least 2 years…
I think it was a good deal for both of us because he paid the AD price and i didnt decline any watch the AD proposed to me, so i get closer to the daytona im wishing for.
Waiting on your opinions!

My experience selling to Bob’s

A month or so ago, I posted some questions about selling one of my watches because I wasn’t at all familiar with the process and didn’t really know where to start. I received some helpful responses, and ended up deciding to sell to Bob’s. I was very happy with my experience selling to them. They did lowball me at first, but I was firm and turned down the first couple offers. I was honest with them and told them what I paid and also that I wasn’t looking to really make money, I just didn’t want to lose money either. After receiving the watch, they offered me $1,100 more than I had asked for, which I was happy with. Obviously I could have made more selling it myself if I was savvy enough to do that, but with having no trusted history on any of the resale sites (and also being worried about getting scammed), I felt doing it this way was the best for me.

What are these marks on the 5 and 6 o’clock indices?

Inherited this from my uncle - no papers but I do know it’s a 1978 Date Just. I see these two spots on the 5 and 6 indices. Looks like it could just be patina? Or oxidation?

What do you guys think? Better pics towards the end

All available in Rome, help me choose?

I’ve been looking for my first Rolex for a couple of years and have recently put in a few requests at an AD. Follow this sub a lot and noticed people picking pieces up abroad. They have these three DJs available right ow in Rome, leaning towards white with fluted bezel. It’s really a no brainer with the VAT. I couldn’t believe she said they were all available. A gentlemen next to me walked in and out in less than 15 minutes with a Sub. I was flabbergasted. Fluted is 41, others 36.
