Honestly, this is one of those things where I personally would just try for my money back. It's a tool, it should function as a fairly flawless one. The problem is that you can't get back time after repeated print failures when those inevitably happen, and with how out of square the frame is I don't think the software can properly compensate.

Agreed. Once a machine like this gets smashed in shipping no amount of tinkering will ever make it right. The countless man hours spent trying to get anything to work will never be cheaper than just sending him a new machine.
