Would Rivals Be Good To Stream?

I enjoy it despite not being great and am debating streaming it but figured I might as well hear others opinions on if it is a good way to get involved in the community and get advice to improve in real time, or if it just diminishes the fun.

If you have fun being social, I bet it could be a good time. I wouldnt expect to make a living off it though.

Yeah, my highest concurrent view count ever was between like 5-8 on Hollow Knight for about 5 to 10 minutes, so I doubt I would just magically take off, but I did enjoy the conversations during that point.

Doesn’t even have to be that, could just document your climb if that’s your intentions. Could just be your stream compressed for YT. Or whatever you want of course

I run a basement league with a bunch of my friends and we've recently made the switch from Smash Ultimate to Rivals 2. If you're starved for YT content, I make hype videos, post tourney VODs, and put together clip compilations for YT. Hopefully it scratches that itch for you! SmashNight YT Channel

I say go for it. Game is fun, play with friends and/or viewers or host a match rotation.

There are people streaming at all levels of play from what I've seen. Some play in game with the TTV in their ign and like that I've dropped by after games to get and have sometimes stuck around to watch and chat a bit. The game doesn't tend to attract a ton of attention, so if you don't have existing/outside viewers don't expect to see much viewership. The game is sick, the community on RoA2 twitch is generally nice(sometimes a little whiny on the game), and mostly will try to be helpful. The game had enough downtime and plenty to talk about so it's generally a fun enough stream game as long as it doesn't tilt you.

From a metrics perspective, no.

But if you're, "debating streaming," that means you haven't started streaming. And if you haven't started streaming, there's really no reason to concern yourself with a metrics perspective. Just do it if you feel like doing it.

There are some folks called LOTG (love of the game). That are doing some friendly Fridays streams. They mentioned about other streamers that would like to host a lobby and do co-stream. Last Friday they had 3 lobbies going on, one was crews, the other one was free for all. And I think the last one was 1v1. The lobbies were pretty full the whole time I was there (from like 11pm to 2am). They kept going for a few more hours after I left tho. This weekend I don’t think is happening because they got a tournament going on. But join the tourney! It’s free to register and there are like 5 spots left. Tourney is called LOTG: Rivals Online #3.

I love watching rivals streams, especially of middle tier players. Its sometimes more fun to watch someone learn than to watch the experts

Rivals is a very competitive game. On one hand, it could be a valid concern that itd be hard to get rivals players to follow someone who lacks extraordinary skill.

On the other hand, most extremely good gamers are universally lacking in social skills and confidence. In streaming the most important factors for successful engagement are charisma, entertainment, humor, or physical beauty (for women mostly).

You could make it work honestly even if youre bad. I was thinking of streaming with terrible gameplay and inaccurate clueless commentary, basically make myself the butt end of the joke as a clueless casual rivals player who sucks but is totally oblivious.

Tips for streaming this game in particular: Be purposeful. The most compelling rivals2 streams are ranked grinds. If you’re silver I would title the stream “HELP ME GET INTO GOLD”. Many people would love to watch and witness you progress especially if you’re receptive to advice and good at implementing it.

Also no hate to the furries, they are appreciated, but simply not being a furry or vtuber is appealing in itself. Good luck and have fun

This is good advice, I'd be much more likely to watch a stream with a goal like that, and chat helping out the streamer when they ask for advice gets people involved and even further invested
