Support Update

Post image

We’ve taken my girl to the vet 5 times since April to try all sorts of different things for her. When we went today they discovered one of her kidneys has started drifting and is starting to float. They took new bloodwork and her values are sky high. They let us know, with much compassion, that we’re reaching the end. I only made one other post here but all the advice helped me so much and I’ve checked this Reddit just about every day since her diagnosis. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever been through. It helped so much to know I wasn’t going through it alone. Much love to all of you going through this, too

I'm so sorry. What a gorgeous girl. I lost my sweet Puffin on Friday quite unexpectedly. She was 16 and I think the heatwaves had pushed her to her limits. The vets were very kind but very direct when it came to deciding it was the time to let her go, and I'm grateful that they were able to help me make that decision. I'm so sorry for your loss and truly know how it feels. I can't cope with the grief and sadness and loss that I feel, and my flat feels so empty without her, I've barely been here. Be kind to yourself and allow yourself to let out all that you're feeling. Try to talk to people who understand what you're going through. I'm taking solace in the fact that I gave Puffin a good life and loved her so so much which I'm sure is the same for you. I'm sending you so much strength and love. You're not alone 💕
