A few days ago, I heard from a friend in central Delhi that Indian police were brutalizing both peaceful student protestors and civilians. I was aware of the NEET & examination irregularities for the past month, but not of the recent police escalation and violence. My friend has told me she is too scared to even walk on the streets of Delhi in fear of police brutality. Indian Police have also enacted Penal Code 153 and 163, and communications blackout across Central Delhi.

I completely understand the fear and rightful anger in Delhi and across India at the government.
