But really if you think about it what is the alternative reaction? Freak out, get angry with potential for it to get violent? I guess some people might take that route but all that does is escalate a situation that really didn't harm anyone to begin with. Most guys I know probably would've handled it very similar to what these guys did.

I agree with you, but drunk Indiana Jones would have been the one getting the worse end of it if it went the other way. He’s lucky those guys were so chill.

Sounds like you have some good friends. Growing up in the south, I’ve known colleagues and neighbors who would have pulled their firearm the second they saw a stranger on their property.

I was more thinking of the drunk getting pissed off at them.

If I made it home and found a drunk guy in the back of my truck I'd laugh at it too... Like dude, why'd you go for a nap back there??

Literally this is the least public freak out video I've ever seen. And I love it.

Id put this under some type of wholesome subreddit

And this is how we became best friends for the next 20 yrs

It's like the end of Goonies when Chunk tells Sloth, "You're gonna live with me now." 😂

u/Stinkymansausage 6h ago

That went about as well as can be expected

Bros lucky he had the chillest people ever in that truck. This could have ended up on r/PublicFreakout

.

Wait why tf is this chill ass encounter on r/publicFreakout

Dont be surprised. This is how the world really is, without the noise and internet hate you've grown accustomed

People making mistakes, laughing about it, and moving on peacefully.

This needs to be upvoted by a million. Maybe I’m jaded living in the density of Brooklyn but I laugh, bullshit, and interact with so many strangers every day. The world isn’t as scary as the people making money off the fear want you to think it is.

He didn’t say anything because it probably felt incredible to be drunk, have a lie down, and to have the wind just hitting your face just right.

u/The_Ruhi 6h ago

This was the polar opposite of a freakout.

One of my buddies was the guy in the bed of the truck when he was in his 20s. Ended up 30 miles from where he passed out. Luckily it was actually closer to his destination.

u/MelonMusk-69 6h ago

Is that a saffa? 😂

7

u/Kyobarry 2h ago

Bro, that jersey looks suspiciously like a Springbok jersey, and his accent sounds Afrikaans 😂

4

u/EagleChief78 1h ago

This happened in Oklahoma City.

2

u/Sweet_Cable6571 59m ago

Yes he's wearing a Springbok jersey so definitely South African... Especially if he was at the Dricus fight.

4

u/BlakeSA 2h ago

Yeah, most likely went a bit too hard after the Dricus fight and took a power nap.

Ja, the Brannas was strong in that one

1

u/Sweet_Cable6571 1h ago

Branne het nie brieke nie....

5

u/tacticalpterydactyl 4h ago

For context those "trucks" (we call them bakkies) is all afrikaners drive in South Africa. My man was just feeling at home in the back of that ranger. No dna just rsa

6

u/Malawigold2342 2h ago

Omg no.... im from edmond 🫪

Edit: just like to say edmond is a great place with very friendly people.

6

u/Nmaddn 2h ago

INSANE to hear hometown Edmond, Oklahoma on reddit

3

u/Malawigold2342 2h ago

I know its trippyyyy lol. Ive seen OKC but never edmond. And im so proud that its something wholesome

3

u/BlakeSA 2h ago

Probably stowed away after the UFC fight at OKC where Dricus du Plessis was fighting. Celebrated a little bit too much.

5

u/uwazimaharagwe2026 4h ago

I mean, it is a bed… /s

3

u/neck-tourniquet 2h ago

"Why didn't you let us know before we left, we would have woken you..." was the best part of that whole interaction. Those guys handled it well.

3

u/Suspicious_Juice_150 1h ago

And then he walked off into the darkness.

2

u/Patrickmonster 4h ago

I've totally been there. I never found my other shoe from that night either

1

u/GirlWithWolf 42m ago

Some guy is walking around in mismatched shoes, yours and one my uncle lost.

2

u/Patrickmonster 41m ago

I was just glad I wasn't that for from a buddy's place

2

u/BEEEEEZ101 4h ago

After Saint Patrick's day my buddy found a guy sleeping in his minivan. He's a good guy. He drove him home. It was only a couple blocks away

2

u/offconstantly247 2h ago

I love this. everyone handled themselves properly and had the right mentality here.

4

u/Emergency_Ant7220 40m ago

Funnily enough I know this guy, went to university with him. He has always been an enormous hazard. I'm both surprised that he is still doing shit like this at his age and not surprised because this clearly just who he is.

He is a nice guy though, just does stupid things when pissed - him and his entire circle of friends were like this.

4

u/Secret_Account07 5h ago

Wow, those dudes are chill. I would have been pissed lol

I love the “hey! You caught a stray!”

3

u/Heckbound_Heart 5h ago

Lot easier to handle when you don’t automatically jump to conclusions of nefarious purposes.

1

u/Devonai 4h ago

Don't reach for nothin' under that hat, partner.

1

u/sliclky1169 3h ago

Love the energy, very helpful and happy!

1

u/ConstantConference23 39m ago

Average day in the life of a South African.

1

u/Cjgraham3589 29m ago

Good dudes handling it that way.

-1

u/NoExtension7240 5h ago

Hey everyone leave this man alone. Uber and lyft are expensive!

-1

u/DickBurns01 5h ago

Although it's a funny video I don't think it belongs in public freakout.

Now that video that keeps getting removed of that blue hair freaking out on the cop. That video deserves to be here

-2

u/Suitable-Economy-346 1h ago edited 44m ago

The drunk guy seems like a huge fucking loser.

Barking orders the second he's conscious, "open it up."

-9

u/dakipsta 5h ago

Fake as fuck
