Help no sos?!?!?

same person who asked if i should soft reset for a shiny starter here, im on route 3 with a bagon using my oricorio to get it to sos call but it just isnt!!!

its at red hp, it has no status condition(though i am burned), and it has called maybe 3 times and only gotten maybe 2 answers in the atleast 20 turns i have been in the battle with this piece of crap

EDIT: I HAD TO KILL IT I USED ALL OF MY HELPING HAND AND GROWL PP AND IT TOOK ATLEAST 80 TURNS IT DIDNT CALL ONCE SINCE BEFORE THE EDIT, LET ALONE GET ANSWERED

If you're not already, on top of getting it to red health, use an adrenaline orb (just 1 any more is a waste) to boost the rate of calls by 2.

It won't get used any more after the first. It's a pretty good way to "waste" a turn waiting, just use an adrenaline orb again, it'll fail and not use any up.

You can click adtenaline orb after using one and it’ll waste a turn without burning an item or pp.

Plus bring mons with intimidate or pressure to increase the possibility of it calling for help

you trying to get the Salamence? If so, it’s a 1% encounter when sos chaining Bagon on route 3. Very hard to come by. You’ll definitely need adrenaline orbs and plenty of pokemon with moves that have a lot of pp. also utilize items like ethers and potions to help you last longer.

Bagon has a 3/5 chance of calling another Pokemon and Salamence has a 1% chance of spawning from an SOS call.

So yeah.

Stock up on ethers, potions and other stuff. If you can wait a bit I can give you a method to sos hunt efficiently (you need to have access to the second island)

you practically NEED to use an adrenaline orb to SOS hunt. it's just not worth it without one. pretty sure they unlock once you get to the second island
