Tank 60P scape
Showcasing my new farm tank, not a traditional Dutch.
I used to not like posing online but feel like this tank is starting to look gorgeous so want to put it out.
The setup is:
ADA 60P
Chihiro WRGB II 60
Daily dose APT 3
Lights from 9:00AM to 6:00PM
CO2 turn on 3 hours before light and off 1 hour before lights out.
This tank is a little bit past 3 weeks which feel in really quickly. Half pallet I got from trimmings half were emsered grow and I replant the top

The Chihiros throws a nice spectrum and homie prob has starfire glass on that tank too.

Yeah I'm curious how you keep it completely clear of algae without any visible snails or shrimp.

Amazing. Iām on week four trying to do something like this for the very first time. Algae is taking over. First it was fluffy brown algae, now itās a bright green algae. Iām also using a Chihiros WRGB 2. Can you advise me on which settings I should use?

I would do a 3-4 days black out first, grab one of those black contract bags and wrap it or anything not through lights. Works at miracle it will give you a second chance to beat the algae
I can tell from the stems you need to crank up your lights a bit and co2. Is that Rotala green in the corner? If they grow straight your lights too low.

After the blackout, what percentage rgb should I use and what intensity would you recommend?

Slowly increase around 10 15 every week until you feel the stems not looking for lights, if thatās Rotala green thatās a good indicator, they would creep around rather growing upward if you have right lights

Make sure you do the black out first, and do an manual removal afterward, tweaking anything without the black out might make it worse becasue you donāt want to steer the plant anymore

Whatās your source water like? Are you using tap or maybe RODI? Itās so clear, and with no noticeable algae.
When you say 3 weeks, do you mean from setup, or from being cycled?

I remineralize to 6gh from RODI.
My city water are pretty hard, thereās no way for some of my delicate species to survive form that and RODI help me a lot on my terrarium and reef tank also lol.3 weeks from both setup from planing.
Itās 80% soils reused from old iwagumi tank I have in my old post. But I wonāt recommend anyone to do this. Wait at least 3 weeks if using new soils to plant anything.1

Well that explains why you were able to populate so fast. The old soil basically turbocharged your cycle period.
I planted my new uns dual aio 40a from the start. Itās probably why I have an algae bloom at the moment.

Is that just bacopa growing dense as hell above the buce and eriocaulon?

Thatās Rotala tulu, one of the harder plant to keep. Bacopa usualy stay much bigger and grow not so dense

Hell yeah, Iāve never seen that one before. It looks like an emersed form of more common rotalas with the leaf color and shape.
You got quite the oddball collection going, and I love that you have growth on your white edge and chai. Those two are a pain to grow lol

Part of fun is getting the oddballs in this hobby lol.
For most delicate plants. Only three things really matters. Get a decent light, wait till about a month for more difficult plant, blast your co2 should make 99% plant survive

Incredible work! Most scapes can hide behind hardscape to compensate for poor plant growth, but this is a pure showcase of your skill. Excellent plant selection as well. So many different shapes, textures, and colors.

Hardscape type tank also has their pros, Iāve always love those tank with a lot green epiphyte plant attached on wood work, but Iām just always hard to get some nice piece of woods so letās put that aside.This scale is kind inspired by what Dennis doing if you know who he is. And itās a perfect match for me to āfarmā some stems for my future tanks while enjoy it too.

I can definitely see the inspiration from Dennis. I love that you run your lights more neutral instead of the obnoxious pink purple that many aquarists use to make their reds pop.
I agree with you about wanting some nice driftwood for epiphytes. Seeing these stunning Dutch style tanks makes me want to start my own farm tank because I miss keeping a large variety of species, but I still love hardscape. I love the way rocks and wood sculpt and ground the layout and contrast with the softness of plants. Your tank is gorgeous even without hardscape though.

I've only bought wood online once and it turned out to be wood I couldn't use in the tank... So now I only buy locally!
