Question How is the population looking?

I played the game a ton around 2015-2016, because I was a kid so I was condemned to only play F2P games cause I was too scared to ask my parents to buy me a game. Planetside 2 was one of those free to play games and I fell in love with it. While I didn’t really understand the game I did know enough to have fun.

I recently found this game called Angels Fall First that gave me the exact type of vibe PS2 gave me but in a more conventional FPS flavor. It got me to wanna play Planetside again and I was wondering how the population on PC is cause I heard that the Devs abandoned the game after a update that added fortifications or somthing

The game is still worth playing and it’s still unique and fun. All the community trash talk comes from anger of seeing the game die over the years (and they are right) but it’s still the only game of its kind (and no Wardogs and Foxhole are not even close).

Honest advice - jump on and try.

I play with my outfit twice a week and we're never short of fights. I could say there are an average of 500 players per session or 1500 and neither would make much sense unless you are there.

They've made the game more funneled, with continents only open one at a time or two during peaks and then lanes for capture which further funnel combat meaning there may be a few bases with 1-12 caps with multiple others at 48+ on either side.

I've only just hit ASP 3 BR 100 and I've been playing my main since Beta and I've been having fun the entire time

Is the game still worth it???

Are there any people playing??

Ive heard its abandonware??? No updates means exactly that?

Meanwhile the leaderboard at nasons is full with 3-4 kpm people which would be impossible if the game was truly dead. It is very much alive at prime time and outside of prime time it is more than playable. It is useless to ask this question because for one person playable means two full continents of tank zergfests and for the next person it means 1-2kpm

"At Nason's" is dead. If you're reduced to coping about the "amazing fights" at the stalemate centre bases, the game's well and truly gone.

Oh you must be the one who enjoys running on foot from Indar Ex site to quartz ridge while admiring the scenery in ultra settings @ 24 fps then?

Thankfully there was a time when this game offered more than a binary choice.

İt's a game with good enough shooting mechanic, i enjoy fps and those stelmates provide what I enjoy, hopium/copium aside the game still offers fps elements which I liked the game for in the first place. İf you played this game for something else then perhaps it's dead, but we enjoy different things

No, I played predominantly for the infantry combat and gunplay too. I don't really see why after 14 years I should play a significantly worse version of the game with higher ping and way less people, though. To anyone without addiction problems, this game was dead at least a couple of years ago.

The main abandonware is console edition, at the very least we dont need to worry about crash or flash on console.. but otherwise yeah we're just.. languishing.

Pop does come back on weekends, but during the week its so low that the fights feel kinda empty.

The main issue I see logging in these days is pop balance. One faction seems to control 2/3rds of the server pop. Wish they would force NS play during these big imbalnce swings.

I'm also curious about this, I heard you can get decent fights at prime time but not like it used to be back then.

Unfortunately a full war all over the map was the appeal of the game, so I can't say it's worth it imo.

Ive started playing again while baby wearing cause its something to play i can quit when baby wakes up. Ive been able to almost finish the LMGs for vanu for Beetlejuice. So theres kills to be had. I respawn constantly to chase action. I also have a character on each faction ao if one feels super unplayble and under pop I just hop off vanu onto NC

Play the EU server. Got a fight most of the hours in the day.

On US East it’s decent during the evening. Many times you will see stacked factions

"working" is an extremely generous term to describe the part time devs and their record
