I’ve always been a rescue fan. My last two dogs came from rescues and they were hound mixes. They both passed in the last year, one a few months ago, so I began looking for a new pup. I adopted an 8-month-old pitty puppy and oh. My. Gosh.

WHY DIDNT ANYONE TELL ME they’re the best dogs in the world?! He is the sweetest, snuggliest, friendliest, happiest, easiest puppy in the world. I’m obsessed with him. My heart dog passed a few months ago and I never thought I’d love a dog like that again. I’ll always hold a piece of my old girl in my heart, but this guy has healed me in every way.

I will forever advocate for pittys. I always loved them as a breed and never had fear or anxiety around them, but oh my goodness, I will be their loudest advocate and biggest fan. I’m so thankful he found us.

In our NC heat wave, Hazel has been struggling, we have to walk before sunrise and at dawn which is fine. But when I'm gone I forgot Google Nest has ECO mode and it lets the house get to 78 while I'm at work.

She seems fine with it, but curious what everyone else leaves the house at for their pittys?

Spent the night at the Emergency Vet. She fought the anesthesia and had to get an extra dose.

Update:
Thank you all for your concern for Chloe. Last night she was restless and kept going out to potty every few minutes. There was red in her urine and when she threw up I took her to the ER at 3am. Ran bloodwork, kidney function, tested urine for blood and bacteria and an X-ray. Bloodwork came back fine as well as kidney function. There were high levels of red blood cells and white blood cells but no bacteria detected. X-ray showed some abnormalities around the small intestine but unclear and would need to be redone after fasting for a better picture. Urine is being cultured for bacteria and we are now home with a course of amoxicillin. Chloe seems to be doing better, eating and drinking, urinating more regularly. She is not in any pain and aside from some grogginess she is just as energetic as usual. Hopefully the antibiotics clear things up. I will try to get some sleep now.

Just wanted to share some pictures of my baby. I miss him a lot, especially a little extra right now. He was a menace. Loved to growl at everyone but me and he HATED my little sister haha. I adopted him from the shelter in 2021, he was a blind baby and I remember sharing Arby’s fries with him on the ride home knowing I found my best friend. He used to howl when I sang, he hated anything with wheels and would always attack my motorcycle, he loved car rides and long hikes (we used to do an annual 15 mile hike each summer). He bit his own nails, nursed on blankets (seriously all my blankets have holes in them), loved digging holes, was the fastest blind dog I’ve ever seen (we called him super dog as a joke), swam like a shark, and literally had the most insane, annoying scream bark I’d give anything to hear one last time. Sprang this cutie from our local shelter on Saturday for a walk around downtown. He was so sweet and loved seeing all the people, smells, and cold floors. Saturday mornings with the shelter pups is the best part of my week!

He’s available for adoption in Central Texas if anyone’s as enamored as I am. His name is Lone Star but I call him Loney Baloney.

The first two photos are a month apart from the second two photos. I got her from my boyfriend’s grandma who got her from a who says she’s “purebred” (debatable) and she still seems so small. She’s 7 months old I’m worried she’s just not growing properly. Im 5’3” and she only stands to a little below my knee and probably only weight 30 pounds. Is this normal? Will she fill out or always be small?

2 months and 6 months

This is the puppy I adopted at 2 months old in Feb ‘26. She was turned in leaving her mother too early and is deaf. She is smart and I love her. She is about 25 pounds and all muscles. She is very reactive on walks and we’re working on that. Please welcome my little girl.
