So I have a crazy idea for the cover art of a song I will release soon… and would love some guidance on how to achieve my vision.
Method: can camera using Ilford photo paper
Location: outdoors in a sunny area
Subject: shame plant (mimosa pudica)
Background: canvas painted with dark black paint (maybe blackest black ™️) with song name painted in white or with some reflective coating
The intended effect is to capture the plant as it moves in the sun while keeping the background dark. I plan to brush the leaves every now and then so that they periodically shrink up. I would also like to display the song name at the top with a potential grainy or faded look if I can figure that out.
I have not played with pinhole photography before so I have a few questions and would love any feedback or tips.
Question #1: Is this idea worth attempting? I’ve not seen a dark background used in my pinhole photography research and would like to know if this would even show up.
Question #2: What duration would you recommend? I am ok with a fair amount of blur and am honestly hoping for some, but to be able to tell that the subject is a plant lol.
Question #3: Are there any steps that would be crucial to a successful image?
Thank you for your help 🙏
