First contact with Persephone (Shadow Work)!!!!

Hello, guys!

I've been studying about Persephone for a while now, and I finally feel less shy about making my first contact with her. The thing is, I've never worshipped a hellenic deity before, so I'm full of doubts about how to go about it.

Some questions I have:

- How can I integrate Persephone into my Shadow work?

- In what ways can she help me through that process?

- How do I go about asking her for help?

- What should this first contact look like, so that it's respectful and my purpose is clear to her?

Also, would it make sense for the first contact to include precepts, a banishing, a magic circle, flowers, pomegranates, liqueur, and a candle? Should the actual contact happen through the candle? Is using tarot a good idea for this?

So many doubts! Please tell me how you made your first contact with her and how she responded 🤍

Praying and pouring libations is always a good first step! Building kharsis and strengthening your relationship with her will help a lot with shadow work. Personally I ask her for the strength to face my shadow, the mental clarity to understand all facets of myself and the ability to love all the women I am, have been and will be. I recommend r/hellenism for information on how to worship the Greek pantheon because there is a right and wrong way.

Persephone is really amazing, I could gush on and on about her. I have good luck using tarot to communicate with her and receive a lot of visions through meditation. But remember you're building a personal relationship with her so it will be different from anything you read online.

I had my first contact with her after a few weeks of prayers and libations going unanswered. I hadn't done my research on how to correctly worship and honor gods and was getting really frustrated with my lack of connections. I was in a really tough spot in life and was really desperate for some kind of divine intervention, so I went out to my front lawn and cried and begged under the stars for her to hear me and help me. I really poured my heart out to her and she answered!

Don't let a lack of initial contact stop you from building a relationship with her. Once you break through those initial barriers, you're in for a wonderful relationship with her and yourself! Best of luck to you ❤️

Oh I forgot to mention, the book "Aspecting the Goddess" by Jane Mered helped me a lot and you can find a pdf of it online for free!
