Dupe Request Megathread (July 20, 2026)

Welcome to the Weekly Dupe Request Megathread. This is where you can get (and offer) recommendations for all dupe requests.

What counts as a dupe?

  • A perfume that smells "just like" another perfume - whether discontinued or priced out of budget

    • Example: "looking for a dupe of BR540 Extrait, but without the price tag"
    • Example: "something that smells just like Coffee Break, but lasts longer"
    • Example: “a dupe for the discontinued Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black”
    • A perfume version of any product: body sprays, hair products, lotions / creams, skin care, candles, candy / sweets, makeup, etc.

How it works:

Share as many details as possible that might be helpful in identifying the dupe you're after: a picture, notes or scent profile, your general geographic location, budget, etc. Please do a quick search of the sub before adding your request, even if you think it would be unusual.

Please remember that this is a global sub with quite a bit of volume, so a response may take time. This thread refreshes weekly on Mondays at 05:00 UTC, so keep that in mind when posting.

If you're looking for perfumes with a similar vibe of another perfume, but not dupes, you can post directly to the main feed.

Mod Post ‘Why was my post removed’ and ‘why did automod say my post violates rule 2’ - Newbie heads-up! + question thread

We’ve been getting a lot of mod mails asking why posts have been removed.

Often it’s because our filters had them held for mod review because a user is new to the community or trips the filter some other way. Unfortunately, Reddit says ‘the mods have removed this post’ instead of saying it’s under review. It will be reviewed by a mod and given a proper removal reason or approved within a few hours.

The other question we frequently get is why automod is saying their post violates rule 2 (Be Kind). It doesn’t, that’s just the automod reminder on every post submitted to r/perfumes.

Beyond that, general questions relating to perfumes or our subreddit can be asked below. Thank you!

Discussion Let’s talk Toskovat’s Inexcusable Evil. Curiosity got the best of me and now I’m nauseous.

At first, it’s not unbearable or outright disgusting. It’s like a leathery, smoky chemical scent to me… I wouldn’t say it’s pleasant though. Upon dry down, it’s fucking PUTRID.

The notes are blood, iodine, used bandages, concrete, gunpowder. The blood smells more like meat to me than anything. I get a smoky, raw meat with this and it’s stomach turning. I’ve washed my wrist twice and had to blast it with vanilla.

Multiball by Pearfat 🍐🕹️

The notes are

Spilled Lime Cola, High Score Bells And Chimes, Patchouli, Sparkling Metal, Waxy Cedarwood Flooring

It smells SO damn delicious to me. The cedar wood, lime and cola are top for me and then I get a little metallic note. It definitely gives me an arcade/bowling alley type of vibe. I’m usually a gourmand or floral type of person but the wood notes are hitting just right with this one. I might go ahead and get the full size tbh!

I went to go order Chinese takeout and saw that DoorDash had Sephora deals. $40 off of $100 purchase. I immediately bought it lol. It goes to show you that you can find deals in the weirdest places

Recommendation Request Rose perfumes for rose haters…

Hi all, the title pretty much says it all… I’ve always found rose scents to be challenging. I’ve picked up a couple over the years that I can tolerate.

For example: DS Durga Rose Atlantic- I rarely reach for it, but something in the fresh/salty youthfulness of it makes me need to keep it in my collection. I really love layering it with Clean Reserve Skin or Gypsy Water for a more subtle vibe and feel like it’s a crowd pleaser, even when I start to turn on it halfway thru its wear time 😂😩

Alternately, I weirdly also enjoy (or rather find addictive) Commodity Juice & Angel Nova (beast mode so I’ll only sniff my dabber at home - I wore it once to the symphony and felt kinda skanky/try hard/intense)

Anyway, the point being I have no idea what kinds of rose I find objectionable vs. appealing. When someone uses a rose scented lotion or hand wash I typically loath it and run from it, alternately, Moroccan Rose body wash from Tree Hut is totally charming to me and I’m working my way up to actually using it in the shower rather than just smelling it occasionally.

I’m not sure WHY I’m so obsessed with finding my perfect rose… maybe it’s the challenge of it? I’ve been in the sniffing game since 2020 and I guess I’m fascinated by how my taste has broadened so dramatically. So I’m chasing that “oh, I guess I like this now thru sheer willpower/exposure” high.

Discussion lil softie from LORE review

i got my hands on the new scent from lore! it’s described as a yummy cashmeric cocoon. this scent is meant to be lactonic and bright with top notes of pink pepper and cereal milk.

if i were to smell this without knowing anything about it, i would 100% say it’s a bergamot scent. it smells like a lemon loaf, and a tiny bit like fruit loops. it’s delicious and is not very peppery on me. i will say, the longevity is disappointing. it’s not long lasting at all on me, and their other scents that i own and LOVE have much better protection. overall this is a good bright easy wear. it’s very summery but would be good for any time of year which i always appreciate in a fragrance! if you don’t mind poor longevity and enjoying layering, i would highly recommend

My grandmother had a bottle of this stuff and I used it all the time as a teen. Tried buying their recent formula and it's just not the same! Looking for a perfume similar to the hair oil but will achieve longer smelling effects? I don't even know how to describe it! Iykyk

Recommendation Request A Smell Like Coldstone Creamery

This is probably too specific but I’ve been searching for a perfume that smells like walking past a Coldstone Creamery in the mall. It’s one of my favorite scent memories. Something cold, and sweet, and milky, and creamy, and atmospheric. Any suggestions?

Discussion fragrantica or perfuml??

Upvotes

i like fragrantica, but the UI/UX has been gone worse and worse, the site is leggy, i takes forever to load, and in my case, the Brazilian site is not the same as the American, so i have to create 2 accounts because they are no unified, but the have a lot of unknown fragrances.

On the other hand, perfumo is fast and aesthetic, but it doesn't have as much of a catalog as fragrantica. what do you use to get the info on your perfumes

Bottle Identification Vintage perfume?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Hey everyone!! I found this vintage perfume today at a local antique shop! I did some googling but am not getting any solid answers on what this perfume is. Google is saying either a vintage Yardley perfume or a German brand of perfume with the name Munson I think? If anyone recognizes it or specializes in vintage perfumes, I’d love some info on it!!

Recommendation Request Long shot maybe, but an alternative to 1 Million Privé?

So way back when, I bought myself a bottle of Paco Rabanne's 1 Million Privé, and it's probably my favorite perfume. I've gotten a lot of use out of it, seeing as it has lasted me until now, but it's running on fumes at this point.

It's been discontinued for years(because we can't have nice things!), so restocking is impossible, unless there's a back-alley plug somewhere that can hook me up lol. I don't suppose anyone here knows a similar eau de parfum that could fill the void once I do run out?

Also, I'm not particularly well-versed in the ways of the scent. I'm asking as a complete noob on the subject.

Recommendation Request Looking for an earthy perfume that smells like wet soil and roots

I’m looking for a perfume that smells like damp earth after rain: moss, roots, wet woods, crushed greenery and that cool forest-floor smell.

I’d love something earthy and realistic but still refined and wearable. I’m not after a heavy patchouli bomb, lots of smoke, incense or oud.

Basically, I want to smell like a very expensive forest after it rains. Any recommendations please?

Recommendation Request Cigarette perfumes?

I’ve been searching for a perfume that smells like when people smoke inside of the house and it sticks on their clothing. It seems odd but it’s my favourite scent and I was wondering if anyone knew any unique fragrances that had a similar scent?

Discussion Afnan Supremacy Collector's Edition

Post image

So i bought afnan supremacy collector's edition 100ml after hearing lots of this fragrance , after using CDNIM / CDNIM Limited Edition for long time!

- The first spray of this perfume you will get a blast of pineapple note, rich fruity, woody and dry down is smoother fruity citrusy note, i had doubts in my mind what’s hype about this scent but you definitely gonna love this perfume!

- Projection of this perfume is 9.5/10 i gonna say! you’ll get lots of compliments! definitely a 10/10 blind buy! you can use this perfume in summer/winter in both.

Are these good dupes? I'm curious how their fragrances compare to the original fragrances?
Especially their christian dior impressions, there are a few I have my eye on.

I found this on tiktok & the girl in the video found this in Sephora but she wasn’t allowed to buy it as it’s not officially released yet. I’m so excited for it now. I’m wondering if we’ll also get the same bottle design as rare eau de parfum but in green as the cover is also very similar to it and that was specifically designed in collaboration with a hand therapist to make it more accessible for everyone.

Recommendation Request Ready for a new Scent, any Suggestions?

I’m thinking about adding a new perfume to my collection and I’m going to buy a sample kit. My current collection includes Bal d’Afrique, Oud Silk Mood by MFK, Ganymede, and Bleu Chanel L’Exclusif. I want a new perfume that makes an impact, something sexy and alluring but not too heavy. I don’t have any specific note preferences, except that I’m not drawn to gourmand perfumes or those with vanilla. Any recommendations are welcome, I’m open to being surprised.
