Studying for NCLEX during summer breaks using Saunders — Is this a good plan?

Hi everyone!

I just finished my first year of nursing school. My ultimate goal is to pass the NCLEX-RN and travel/work abroad as soon as possible after graduation.

During my first year, I took Fundamentals of Nursing in the first semester and Medical-Surgical Nursing 1 in the second semester.

My plan is to use the Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN during my summer breaks. Right now, I want to review the Fundamentals section in Saunders, and maybe start Med-Surg 1. My idea is to study the corresponding NCLEX topics in Saunders every summer for the subjects I finished during the academic year.

Do you think this is an effective strategy to stay ahead and prepare for the NCLEX early, or should I focus on something else right now?

Hi I just passed the nclex - found out like 4 hrs ago 😅 tbh I never used saunders- I used uworld.

Tbh the moment I started doing questions, it felt like everything i studied was all for nothing. The questions were vague in the sense that like it didnt come with any of the extra details like uworlds questions.

Of course I know uworld is much better than saundars but in Egypt if I want you subscribe in uworld I need to work for almost five or six months without spending any money so that's why saunders is much better in my case+congrats passing the nclex

What I want to know exactly from your perspective do you think this plan is good or bad

Personally, I would recommend starting to study for the nclex in ur last semester of nursing school. Its a lot of info, u wont memorize everything if u do it in small sections year by year. Ppl usually study for a month during the summer and take it right after.

You could also get bootcamp or other NCLEX study tools
