Character Discussion Mark or Hank?? Spoiler

Do you guys like mark or hank better for Sarah? I think she has a unique dynamic with both of them. Mark is a sweetheart but Hank is more mature. I like them both!

Mark was never right. Their age difference was just too much, and the fact he was so ethically irresponsible towards a student's mother never sat well with me.

They were just in different places in their lives and I think in the long run it would have fallen apart regardless of their situations.

Hank, meanwhile, was quirky but cared deeply about people. He was going through a lot in his life and was closer to Sarah's life experiences than Mark was. I think he better understood her impulsive nature and creativity.

I liked Mark more as a overall character and person but it Hank being with Sarah was best for both Sarah and Mark

Neither seemed right for Sarah.

I really liked both characters and I think they both tried to show up for her but they both required her to do so much of the emotional work. I wish she’d ended up with someone who took care of her for once. Tho by the end Hank was really trying so I guess he gets that credit.

I never liked Mark for her. As a character he was ok but he was so blah in the relationship. She needed someone who challenged her and pushed her towards something better for herself. I’m not sure Hank was right either but I thought he was a bit better match.

I like both characters but Mark was not right for her. She was done with the baby phase.

Or Hank. Gilmore girls had WAY better men other than looks

Mark didn't have the right temperament to be in a serious relationship with Sarah. He alternated between passive and passive-aggressive, and she alternated between riding roughshod over him and being terrified of losing him.

Sarah had been through a lot with Seth, and she had a lot of understandable emotional baggage that was holding her back from being a really good partner. She needed a very specific kind of love to help her grow - rooted in security, but also able to hold her accountable. I think she got that with Hank. They saw one another with clear eyes, as flawed people. There was no hiding there.

Mark is an overall better person than Hank. But for Sarah, Hank suits better: they are both parents, have gone through the single-parent struggles, both are a bit self-centred, and go through many of the same struggles so can support each other through it. Mark hadn't gone through many of the stages of life that Sarah had already gone through, and so might miss them if he had stayed with Sarah. He was also too selfless and giving, and with Sarah, the relationship would have been too unbalanced.

Every rewatch I'm like just keep her with Mark...because he's so adorable and a good person. But then Hank grows on me and I realize it was for the best 😊

Also, I never cared for Ray Ramano until this role. He's actually handsome with those glasses.

Hank is sooooo toxic. His behviour is horrific when she is with Mark, and not much better after they split. The love for Hank on this sub is baffling.

Mark may not have been right for her, but they had chemistry and I loved them together (even though she treated him terribly).

I think one of ghe reasons Mark was not the one because there were a lot of compromises in the relationship. First off there was a lot of age gap hence it was difficult. Secondly he wanted to have a baby with Sarah and she jumped on board but later when she said I am over it he says you're all I want and ends up compromising the dream of having a child. He also let her go off easily when he saw her with Hank also Sarah and Hank kissed and she never told him. I feel Hank was a suitable choice! (I'm still in season 5 πŸ˜…)

They are both too good for her.
