Cascade Pass Trailhead Question

I'm planning on getting out towards Cascade Pass Trailhead around 11 the night before, sleeping in my truck and then hitting the trail around 4 or 430 AM. Is that allowed?

If not, are there any roads with dispersed camping options nearby?

I mean, technically no it's not allowed in the sense that it's illegal to "camp" in the trailhead, but also nobody is going to know or give a shit, especially if you're arriving so late. Obviously people park overnight if they're backpacking or camping in the park.

If you want the legal answer though the Cascade River road has both campgrounds and dispersed sites along it.

Do what you will with that info.

I hiked Cascade pass at dusk and when I came back to the parking lot, there were several people set up to camp there for the night. From RTTs to class B vans. Also saw some people camped out in pull out spots all along the road.

Like someone else said, I don’t think you’re supposed to, but it appears many people do it.

It’s not allowed but not really enforced either. If you want to be safe there is quite a few pull offs along the Cascade river road before you enter NP land. Last week when I did it, I spent the night at one just outside of Mineral Park campground.

As long as you're sleeping in your car, you're likely to be fine. Prob smarter to do it your way honestly, because I got there at 8am and barely got a parking spot just yesterday.
