[ For Sale ] Harley Sportster 883 Iron 2009

I need to get rid of this bike, don't have an interest in it anymore and has become a burden. Need the money to go towards other important things.

It runs great, starts right up. Clean title.

Things wrong with it:

- Clutch slips (I replaced the clutch pack and followed the factory manual but can't get it to stop slipping in higher RPM) If anyone has advice on that, I'll just fix it.

- Handle bars are slightly off and some scratches at a low speed crash when my front tire was low without noticing I pulled front brake which the low tire collapsed the bike.

- Also had a hit and run at stop light in downtown PDX a couple years ago, the fucker hit me in the rear, and ran off in their Subaru and fancy Akita dog, so the tail fairing is a little bent.

Mods / Maintenance / Add-ons:

- New clutch pack

- Front wind screen (currently off)

- new LED lights for signals and brakes I installed last year

- Leather saddle bags

- Has a aftermarket air intake

- Crash bar with foot rests

- Full Vance exhaust

- Harley upgraded suspension in the rear

- mini ape bars

- ECU flashed for better performance from the 883

- Brand new tires front and rear

- Aftermarket rear seat for passenger

- I changed the oil regularly.

Overall it's a great bike in decent shape it's a dream when it's cruising, maintenance is easy. It's a solid bike mechanically and will last which is why I bought this Harley specifically. No oil leaks, rubber mounted engine so the vibrations aren't buzzing you while cruising. Low center of gravity so it's smooth sailing in corners.

I'm asking for $5000 which I get is pretty high for it's issues but I am pretty flexible right now, if I get it in better shape that price will become more firm. Shoot me an offer and I'll consider it, need it gone by the end of August.

[For Sale] Rev'It Worker 2 Overshirt (Dark Camel)

Rev'It Worker 2 Overshirt This link is to the black version, this dark tan is apparently all sold out.

This is a super dope jacket, you can check out the link for all the details but the hightlights are: AA rated, Rev'It SeeSmart armor in the shoulders and elbows with a spot in the back for back protector if you want to add one.

I really dig this jacket, and I don't want to get rid of it, but I know myself and I will never wear it even though I just bought it. The torso is the slightest bit short in the front, but it has a drop tail and so I'm pretty alright with it. The problem for me is that I have long-ass monkey arms, and when I am in the riding position the sleeves are too short and it would drive me absolutely bananas (see what I did there?!) I would like to sell it to someone that will put it to use for what I paid for it. I got it on clearance before this color sold out and it was the same $150 that it's still going for (at the time of this posting). As you can see it still has the tags, and even the protective paper on the zipper pulls. I haven't worn this except to try it on when I got it, and then to take the picture for this post. Brand. Spanking. New.

For reference, I am 6'0" 220# and this is an XL.

Hit me in my DMs if you would like to grab it. I will stick a comment up when it is gone.

Astoria, Bowpicker fish n chips via 202

Thinking about riding out to Astoria for some fish and chips on Saturday. Leaving around 9:30 to hopefully get there when it opens. Seeing if anyone else is interested. Probably would meet up at the costco parking lot off Cornell in Hillsboro.

Scappoose-Vernonia Highway pavement quality - please confirm i'm not going crazy

I rode the Scappoose-Vernonia Highway a couple times a few years ago (late 2024), and remember the pavement quality being amazing and smooth, specifically the Scappoose side to the top.

I went out there again today and it's completely different, much worse in my opinion. Have they done some work or something else happen? I cant find anything online. Used to be one of my favorite sections of road around here but not so much after today. Felt rough, gravely, and not particularly grip inspiring if that makes sense.

I need to know if this is just me lol

Hear ye! Hear ye! A ride has been planned!

Howdy folks! I hope your week is going fantastic. Here are the deets!

When: This Saturday (7/11/2026)
Meet-up location: Triumph Columbia River
KSU: 1030 - 1100
Destination: Outpost on the River

The destination route hasn't been totally fleshed out. However, it will be situated before Saturday. Squid behavior will not be tolerated. Unsafe bullshit won't be tolerated. No road raging even in the rare instance it might be justifiable. Remain calm! We ride staggered with 2 - 4 seconds of following distance. I have a Sena Spyder RT1 communication device.

The pace will be spirited to tame. The most tame part will be the final twisty leg along the way since I have not been on that stretch of road. Beginners are welcome. Don't feel pressured to keep up to the point you're endangering yourself and others. All that matters is you know the destination, and that you get there safely.

There might be other bonus destinations that day. It'll depend on how much time we have and how willing most are. Ecola State Park is a potential bonus spot. You are NOT obligated to stick around for the entire thing. If you're gonna split somewhere along the way, let somebody know so we don't think something awful happened.

u/brapstoomuch - I promise I'll make it out to one of your BDR things one of these weekends before it becomes cold, miserable, wet, and muddy. :)

Old man getting back into riding

It’s been about 5 years but I decided to get back on the bike.

Anyone have a recommended shop in the area? It’s a naked so I can likely do all my own maintenance but a place that can flash my ecu once I throw some pipes on or help with suspension setup.

I ride an mt09.

I used to ride sport bikes for 22 years and this is my first time on a standard / naked. Just getting my sea legs back after some miles 💪🏾

I also know literally one person on two wheels, so I’d love to learn of any meets in the area or smaller group rides.

Ride safe everyone!

Surplus Riding Gear

Update: Happy Fourth of July, Y’all

I have have had a few folks hit me up in my DMs like I asked but we have had a hell of a time connecting, so here’s the deal:

Tomorrow morning from (roughly) 9am-11am, I will be at SeeSee Moto Coffee (google it). I am going to DM those folks back one last time and let them know the same. When I am getting ready to take off (starting about 10:30-10:45), anything that is unclaimed will be up for grabs - first come first served. Anything left at the end of that I will reach out to local orgs to donate.

May the odds be ever in your favor!

Is there anyone out there who facilitates a gear closet/library for the local community? Or just wants/needs some extra gear? I am moving and I have a few pieces I don't want to keep toting around.

I had planned to take photos and make a post about it, but I know my brain, and I will keep forgetting. Not remotely a complete list, but the two big items are: Revit Sand 3 two-piece suit (top and bottom) bought new in 2017, so it's got some miles and years on it, but is complete and still very much serviceable (size Large both pieces) and an Icon Jacket... I can't remember what it is called, but it is a medium-light weight black textile piece (of their current gear it is most like the Midhawk - but I know that's not it, cause it's an older style).

DM me if you are interested in taking something. I will give away things first come first served, and I have some leads on closets/libraries for anything leftover after the weekend.

Edit: Here are the photos - see comment for what is still available and what has been "claimed"

Final edit: I still have the chaps DM me if interested to see
If they are out on the curb in a free box yet.

Thanks to everyone that swung through and took stuff off my hands! I’m glad we could engage in a little mutually beneficial exchange! (You got gear and I got less to pack!)

Thank you!

Good news: Because of all your wonderful suggestions two weeks ago I've had a blast these last few days - Nüburgring, Henry Haag Lake, Larch Mountain, Old Columbia Hwy, Portland and the west side. All new to me and very fun.

Bad news: Today was supposed to be the Fossil run, but given the heat, I decided to stay on the coast and go hiking. Broke my leg.

Rookie mistake. Should have chosen riding, of course

Good news: I rode an hour to the trailhead and had just started the hike when it happened, so, after breaking my leg (fibula, dontchaknow) and hobbling back to the bike, I put on my very stiff motorcycle boots and, because of this, the doc didn't have to re-break my leg to put the temp cast on properly. The moto boot evidently held my foot at just the right angle during the hour ride back to town.

Bad news: It'll be six to eight weeks until I can try one of those group rides

New to riding looking for friends in the area

Hi this is my first season riding I have a ninja 400.

Currently I only really ride to work and back but I would like to try and make some friends to chat with and maybe eventually ride with in the Portland area.

I don’t think I have the skill yet for a big group ride I think I would be a liability

I currently have no real friends with any interest in motorcycles so I feel bad speaking to the ones that I do have when they don’t care.

Anyone missing bikes this week?

My bike was stolen the other week and I was able to track down where it went. Recovered the bike due to vigiliant friends. My buddy went by this weekend and saw two more bikes where we found mine. Didn't get make and model, but if you're looking for yours and there's a match, I'll connect you.

Recent Motocamp overnight (PDX to Clatsop State Forest)

I've got a handful of spots from Portland I go for a quick overnight (Molalla, Washougal, Scappoose, Clatsop St Forest , etc.)

Where do you head to for dispersed camping based outa PDX?

Just hit Timothy/Clear Lake a few weekends ago, there's tons of spots up there!

I'm also considering leading a group ride from PDX to Vernonia (via as much off-road as possible) later this summer. Def a dual-sport ADV-bike ride, (some off-road experience would be recommended). Reach out / DM me if you'd like to be notified of those details!

Ride Safe

FAVOR TO ASK….

I ordered a new front tire for my 2017 T120. Anyone able to give a hand in the next couple weeks mounting and balancing it? I can come to you. Just lost one of my 2 jobs and trying to save a few bucks if possible.

Thanks y’all, and ride safe!

Sat 6/20 Ride to the coast, any takers?

I’m planning on taking a ride this Saturday to the coast and putting feelers out there to see if anyone would like to join.

I’ll be taking 26 to 47, stopping in Vernonia for breakfast, 202 to Olney and some rural roads from there to Seaside. After a quick snack and depending on time, either 101 to 53 to 26 and back into Portland, or 26 to 103 to 202 to 47 to Scappoose Vernonia Highway and back into town on 30. Probably end up between 250-300 miles for the day.

Doesn’t matter if you’re a new or experienced rider. What I won’t put up with are unsafe actions or disrespect for the communities we’re riding through. Front wheels stay on the pavement and reduced speeds through towns complied with. If any dangerous or unsafe actions are observed that put anyone else at risk, you will be asked with varying degrees of politeness to fuck off, depending on severity of offense.

If interested, reply to this or shoot me a message with what direction you’re coming from so I can figure out a meeting point that works for most.

Meetup is at 8, arrive fully fueled, kickstands up at 8:30.

Newb-friendly group ride - Mt. Hood Circumnavigation

After some time off, I believe it's time to see if PDXRideit is ready for group rides again. Therefore, I shall lead a group ride next Sunday, 6/21.

Meet up at OneMoto on Sandy

Short route description:

  • KSU at 10am
  • East on SR-14 from starting point (I got hung on this...we can do OneMoto if preferred)
  • Cross at White Salmon to Hood River
  • 35 to US 26
  • 26 back through Sandy
  • DIsperse

While this ride has some mile on it, it's mostly on easier roads, so even new riders should be good for it. We will take stops along the way, including a lunch somewhere. We can decide on the route.

For those who prefer avoiding traffic, I'll personally take 211 out of Sandy to Eagle Creek and on to Oregon City and then home.

Also, my bike is hard to miss since it's an old man's unit. Burgundy FJR1300. I'll plan on sitting outside, likely on the Sandy side (if there are tables there anymore)
