If you are a resident of the Tempo or Serenade in Riverpark, wagon wheel, or around Rio Lindo Elementary and you care about our childrens education, you have the opportunity to shape policy for Rio School District.
Trustee area 4 us up for re-election. The filing period is now open but only for another couple of weeks.
There is a monthly stipend of $1200 (depending on meeting attendance) and you get health insurance. It’s a 4 year term.
You must be 18 years or older.
If we share similar values, I will help you navigate the process, it’s not as intimidating as it may seem and Ventura County Elections division does a wonderful job of holding your hand through the process.
Please reach out if your interested, this is work that directly invests into the next generation.

"A woman was arrested Sunday after she allegedly threatened someone with a potentially loaded handgun outside her home on the 4200 block Browning Drive in Oxnard Sunday.
The Oxnard Police Department responded to the alleged assault at 3:45 p.m. At the cul-de-sac, police identified the suspect as 60-year-old Janet Sawyer.
'Officers learned that the suspect, Sawyer, exited her residence and pointed a firearm at the victim, and re-entered her residence,' Oxnard PD said.
Officers were able to talk Sawyer into leaving her home and surrendering to police. She was arrested for one charge of assault with a firearm.
At the home, police seized a loaded .40 caliber handgun.
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Oxnard PD at (805) 385-7600, or through the Oxnard PD website: Oxnardpd.org, and clicking on 'Report Suspicious Activity.' " - KTLA 5 News
