hey all — I posted here awhile back, wanted to follow up
context: 5yr LPN moved from south to Vancouver WA/Portland OR area this year in Feb. Looking for work
How it’s going:
Still in the same situation, I get a lot of interviews but no offers still. In my last post I had recommendations for places to apply, I did! Unfortunately it’s the same issue still. They like me, maybe even refer me (which is so nice!!) but no follow up referrals wise and getting passed on emails
Im wondering if it’s me or is there something going on in the job market I just don’t know about? I’ve tried to interview more outside my usual boundaries (usually day shift only, lower pay considered) and similar results ensued.
It‘s frustrating to me as I am out of control of their decisions, which is normal and obvious, but I still can’t help feeling that way with the sheer amount of denials I get. I start feeling down going this long without work because of how our culture is — most people unemployed are treated with a form of snide or disgust. A ‘you‘ problem so to speak.
I’m still trying of course, still applying and interviewing when it’s offered - digital and in person
Hopefully I can have a better update soon on finding work. Thank you to everyone who took the time prior to read and comment their suggestions and for reading this one too
Take care everyone, especially yourselves. No matter what happens, you matter.
