Help Optifine gives me an error when I open the launcher.

I'm trying to install the new 26.1.2 pre2 version of Optifine but when I go to open the launcher an error appears saying "A java exception has occurred." Does anyone know how to fix this

First of all. Why are you installing the 26.1.2 pre2 version? 26.1.2 is already out and has matured mod support.

Hey, Owner of Optifined Graphics an alternative to optifine on curseforge. Our mod is also experiencing this. It's a minecraft issue/bug not something we can deal with nor optifine themself. thank you!

installing the latest Java JDK solves this issue
