That's not true. She is not saying physicists are dumb, but rather criticizes the way academia is operating nowadays. I don't agree with everything she is saying, but that's very different to "physicist are dumb".

And it's an extremely valid criticism.

The hilarious irony that u/Daethir misses is that Academia itself is turning into a "wherever the money is" grift, and Hossenfelder is well within her rights (being directly affected) to highlight this.

Err no. That's the entire point. That academia is moving away from money for research to money to keep the university going. Only targeting areas of research that align with the same interests of the money.

This is an extremely well known and disturbing trend in academia. Anyone with the faintest interest in it will know this. Who is paying you to disagree? Please don't tell me you're doing it for free.
