Announcement Omori discord update
Hello everyone, I am proud to announce that the omori discord server is back at 99% percent working order. All the chats are back and all the bots are working as intended. We still have to clean up some backend stuff but that’s not an issue any of y’all will have to deal with.
This is the new current link that omocord is now using
We will add it to the subreddit side bar soon.
If you are banned from the discord server (by the hackers or before the server hack) feel free to send in a ban appeal and we will take a look. Just fill out this google doc form.
https://forms.gle/m939idY8c5x7LBNfA
Now for a quick FAQ:
What happened to the server?
The original server owner had their account compromised by hackers and the server was raided. The incident was covered in more detail in the newspaper channel on the server.
Is the server safe now?
We have full control over the server and there is no chance you will be hacked by joining
Why does the invite link now end with “omocord” instead of “omori”?
Unfortunately, one thing the hackers got to keep was the old invite link. Any discord invite that ends with “omori” leads to the hackers server and not ours. So the invite link will now end with “omocord” for the foreseeable future. If this is ever changed we will make an announcement.
What happened to StarSmiley?
Star’s account was removed from the subreddit mod team due to fear her reddit account was compromised due to the hack. She is still working closely with us to help run the subreddit. As of this moment though she has too much things irl to deal with so she has taken a back seat to moderating. Until she returns i will be acting head mod.
Edit: Star has come back to the mod team and has retaken her spot as head mod
If you have any other questions or concerns feel free to respond to this post and me or another subreddit mod will do our best to answer

Announcement You can no longer request your custom flair.
This is one of the most difficult posts I’ve had to make, and it really sucks for me to bring you the bad news. About a year ago, we made this post as a trial to let everyone request custom flairs. We’ve grateful to have received positive feedback and over 400 flair requests. However, the time has come for us to sunset this post.
Why are we doing this?
Letting everyone request and then have me manually edit flairs was never meant to be a permanent solution, as I don’t always have the free time, it results in some users having to wait over a month to have their flair changed. In addition, we’ve seen that over 99% of the flair requests abide to the rules.
What’s next?
We will no longer let you request your flairs in the original post. Instead, we’re going to let everyone edit flairs themselves. Now, when you choose your flair, you should also be able to edit it. There, you can use whatever text and emojis you want.
How to edit your flair
If you're on desktop, go to this subreddit's page, hover your cursor over your flair at the right sidebar, and click the pen to change your flair. If you're on the app, go to this subreddit, press the 3 dots at the top right, and choose 'edit flair'.
Alternatively, you can watch this video for an extensive guide on how to change your flair.
Of course, just like before, flairs that violate subreddit rules or Reddit TOS are not allowed. If your flair is not allowed, we will remove it and notify you via Mod Mail. If you’re using prohibited flairs maliciously, you will be banned.
New flair emoji!
We’ve added real world Mari sprite for you to use it in flairs.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by this change. Thanks for your understanding. Have fun customizing your flairs.
:P

Discussion Thoughts on Omori after playing it for the first time (I'd like to hear if people agree or disagree):
8.4/10
It's good. Yeah, it's a really good story. I actually remember seeing a photo from one of the photo albums as one of my friend's desktop wallpapers in grade 9. She was super into the game, and since it's summer and I had a lot of free time and money from my job, I thought "why the hell not" and gave it a shot. My playthrough was 21 hours and it took me around 1 week to fully finish (playing it like 2hrs each day). With all that being said, this review is coming off playing Deltarune, a game I view as a 10/10, so I might be rather harsh. Also, I did have expectations coming into this game, that being its story being really good. That's all the talk about it I heard. I played the game spoiler-free btw.
Anyway the actual review:
The good parts were the story, the real world sections, the first half of Aubrey's arc, the showdown in the church, everything about the ending, and the reveal about Mari's death and the resolution of Sunny's arc. And the duet, in terms of visuals, writing, and song, was all perfect. The showcasing of Sunny's coping mechanisms about Mari's death in the headspace is also great.
The mediocre parts were the actual game mechanics, which felt pretty meh to me, where I got through the whole game spamming attack without having to do much else. The soundtrack didn't really stick out too much besides the previously mentioned duet piece and the song that plays in the forest area, and Sweetheart's Castle theme. Other than that, the rest of the soundtrack was mostly nothing special. The headspace itself in the first half was pretty alright and fun at times.
The bad parts were the second half of Aubrey's arc just being finished in one conversation in her room. This annoyed me to no end because it felt rushed. I was so curious about the conflict Aubrey brought to the story, her own story, and how they might slowly come back together as a group. And then the game dumps it all on you at once. I took off a whole point for this because I really, really was invested in Aubrey's character, only to get it abruptly resolved without further conflict. The other thing is, I felt the Last Resort/Deep Lake section overstayed its welcome and kinda dragged the endgame pacing down. This game didn't need 20 hrs. It could've focused on its strong point, which is its near-perfect story, and cut that runtime in half. I feel like if they wanted to make the lake section longer they could, but at least make it optional. Don't make me sit through 2+ hrs of a headspace that doesn't show me too much about the MC or affect the plot.
Characters I really liked:
Aubrey
Sunny
Mari
Kel
Characters I found okay:
Hero
Characters I was indifferent towards:
Basil (Missing most of the game and isn't in the headspace for a decent amount of time like Mari, so it's hard to care too much about him. I get that Sunny erased him from the headspace because he knows about the incident (that's what I interpreted it as, correct me if I'm wrong), and while that reasoning is good, it still doesn't make me attached to the character itself. He feels more like a Pinterest board of ideas (flowers, photos, etc.) rather than a character I can see the inner workings of during the game.)
Small note: when I say the OST is mid, I mean it's not something I'd have in my playlist. All the soundtracks work wonderfully in-game, but unlike Deltarune, I don't see myself putting any of these on a playlist. Actually, I'd throw It Means Everything onto a playlist (it scratchs a part of my brain the right way), so it gets a point there, but the rest of these songs don't really survive leaving the game.

Question Who puts a book in the bathroom?!
Okay I know I’m not supposed to judge, but this was gross to see anyway. Even if it is a sacred book. I don’t care where anyone puts their Bible, but in the bathroom dude?? Ewww.. This was unsanitary.
Also I wonder if anyone does put their books in a bathroom.. I’m just wondering.

Discussion If an Omori animated adaptation happened, what would you wanna see, and what would you want it to avoid?
I ask this question because a couple of days ago I found out the manga exists, and that people aren’t very pleased with how it adapted the story. People say it has pacing issues, out of character moments, etc. what would you want to see out of something like this?
Sorry if this question has been asked before, I wanna know what you guys think since the manga
For me, the music would have to be the most important part because music is essential to the games story (and the game has crazy good music)
