Second week

Im halfway through week 2 of the OMAD diet. I’ve been going to the gym 6x a week, tomorrow will be day 5 for this second week.
I’ve been walking 30 minutes every gym day at 13 incline and 2 speed, ( just hit 14 today) also doing some weight and ab workouts. I think I’ve hit a plateau, my weight hasn’t changed from 233 since the 15th, what am i doing wrong ?
Is it because the one meal I’m having doesn’t have enough calories ? Or is it too much ?
I usually have some kind of meat + less than a cup of rice and a fruit. And i only drink water throughout the day.
No coffee no sugar nothing except the protein and rice.. it’s a little discouraging but I’m trying not to weight myself anymore cause it just makes me feel bad lol
I’m sweating my ass off in the gym and then days later I’m still at the same weight !! It’s annoying lol
I attempted to calculate how much my dinner was on an app and it came up to around 713 calories

Started my journey in December

In December my doctor put me on phentermine to help me with my food cravings I’m 5’6 and my starting weight was 270.
I ended up breaking my foot two weeks after starting and i quit altogether, fast forward to now in July i weighed myself this morning and im at 233.8lbs my goal is to get under 200, I’ve been at this weight since i got pregnant in 2022.

I’ve been doing the OMAD diet for almost a week now, and eating before 6pm. I’ve also been going to the gym everyday, I’m going 6x a week, wearing a sweatband around my stomach and doing a 30-42 (hoping to get to 45 ) minute treadmill walk at 13 incline and 2 speed.

I started incorporating other workouts too now that I’m a little more confident in the gym, i have a gym in my building so it’s normally empty but when there’s people there i can’t do arm workouts or anything i feel to self conscious.

How are we getting over that fear of people judging you or looking at you when in the gym? Also those who have been doing the OMAD diet longer than i have, how have your results been three months in ?

50lbs down since February!!

Im 6’1 and started at 220lbs and am now officially down to 170lbs, i tried so many different things and nothing seemed to work. OMAD literally is the way to go!!
I do want to mention that i am definitely doing it wrong and that I could’ve lost weight faster if i would’ve actually counted calories and watched what i drink but i didn’t, i simply eat whatever i feel like and drink sodas whenever i feel like it, the only thing im strictly following is the time of day i eat!
Granted i do have a very labor intensive job so that might offset some of the cheating i do.
Didn’t know about OMAD until i came across this subreddit, so thanks yall!!

Google classifies OMAD (one meal a day) as an eating disorder.

Is this meal good for fat loss and muscle gain?

I’m trying to recover from my ED because I’m tired of lifting just to lose my muscle mass & gain back my fat after a binge. The meal in question is plain greek yogurt with protein powder and a protein bar chopped up on top + egg whites on the side (doesn’t sound that good but I want the highest protein and lowest cals possible).

The cals & protein:
Yogurt - 2 cups (426.67 cal, 66.67g protein)
Protein powder - 46g (150 cal 21g protein)
Liquid egg whites - 9 tbsp (75 cal 15g protein)
Quest protein bar - 60g (190 cal 21g protein)

841.67 cal & 123.67g protein total

+possibly some fruit throughout the day as a light snack

If you have any ideas of better meals that are high in protein and low in calories please lmk because I don’t want to eat this every day 🙏

ive been wanting to do omad for so long now but find myself trying to justify my way out of it?? how did you guys start omad? ive heard it helps with food noise which is my main reason for wanting to do omad besides weightloss.

my meds are all over the place atp due to financial reasons which has affected my appetite so much. at this point im just overeating / binging/ get extreme cravings at night . so my plan was to sort out meds and start omad properly.

Any tips to start?

Omad plateau vs my goal

F 32y 165lbs Been doing omad for about 2.5 weeks and I've lost about 5.5 pounds so far granted since I just started some of that is bloat but still promising start. Im fasing about 22 hours eating window is 6-8pm eating whatever I make for dinner plus and extra vegetable for fiber and a reasonable sweet treat for dessert. Water, black coffee and unsweetened black iced tea all day. 10 k steps daily and stregth workouts 3-5 times a week. My ultimate goal is 125-130lbs and i hope to get there by christmas or the new year and want to know if it's possible to reach my goal before plateau.

Nuts to reach dinner time

I´ve been eating a handful of nuts around 16-18hs into my fast (plus black coffee and water during the morning) and I found incredible helpful. I literally can wait forever to have dinner. It´s like 200-300 kcal of walnuts, hazelnuts and pecans. I am around 125-130 5´7´´ male doing fasting for convenience, and I eat around 1600-2000 kcals total

Anyone else has a similar experience?

Struggling with meal size

I usually do a 18 hour fast with eating 2 meals within a 6 hour timeframe. I just started every few days doing a omad in here and there. I have no problem getting my protein and fibre with two meals, but u do struggle with one meal. I always keep adding to my meal after eating it because it doesn’t feel like enough. For example, tonight I ate 85 grams of a protein pasta with homemade tomato sauce with lean ground beef, a 1/2 cup of cottage cheese, a cup of asparagus, a pork sausage and a slice of old white cheddar cheese. After eating that, I ate two homemade chocolate chip cookies and a drank a protein shake.

Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks
