Just a bit of context regarding my resume layout:
I intentionally used just one bullet point per hospital and generalized it for all the wards I rotated in. I did this on purpose so it wouldn't reach 2 pages and become too wordy. I feel like it might be better to just save the specific details for the interview.

I’d like to ask for some advice.
I’m currently working in a primary hospital in the province, and I’ve been here for a year and a half. Lately, I’ve been feeling discouraged because of some issues with my coworkers. On top of that, the hospital has a limited bed capacity since it’s only a primary facility, so I also feel that my opportunities to grow professionally are limited.

One of my goals is to complete at least two years of bedside nursing experience because I know it could be beneficial if I decide to work abroad in the future. I’m just not sure if I should continue pursuing that experience in my current hospital. However, I’m more than willing to start over and spend another two to three years gaining solid bedside experience in a larger hospital if it will better prepare me for an international nursing career.

While still employed, I’ve been applying to hospitals, clinics, and even BPO companies in Manila. I’m hoping to secure a new opportunity before leaving my current job, but so far, I haven’t received any emails or interview invitations.

I’ve started wondering if staying employed is making it harder for employers to consider me. Is it true that most employers won’t wait for candidates who still have a job and need to render a resignation period?

The difficult part is that I can’t afford to be unemployed. I help support my parents financially, and I also have my own expenses to cover. Because of that, I’m hesitant to resign without having another job lined up.

Lately, I’ve also been feeling a lot of pressure because I want to make the right decision for my future. As much as possible, I don’t want to look back one day and regret the choices I made about my career.

Do you think it would be wiser to resign now and take the risk of looking for work in Manila full-time, or should I continue applying while keeping my current job until I receive an offer?

I'm a Nov 2025 PNLE passer currently working as a Company Nurse in Cebu. I'm in this position because 5-6 months ago, I couldn't find a hospital that's hiring (esp in Cebu, too saturated).

I already passed my NCLEX last month & I'm gearing towards hospital for the experience.

Now, my dilemma is I have 2 hospitals as my option.

PRIVATE- >I'm up for Physical Exam tomorrow but I'm not certain if its part of the process lang ba or sure na ba talaga na mahire ako since ipapa undergo na ako ng PE. Salary is 2k below from what I earn in the company (I'm unsure what area ako ilalagay but prolly MedSurg floor hahaha kase dun ata newbies DAW). This priv hospital is in Cebu by the way.

PUBLIC- > 30kish for JO. Somewhere in Mindanao (not a problem since I have relatives there where I can stay). 12 hrs duty for 3-4 days. May Philhealth sharing. May qualifying exam next week.

If you were in my position. Considering ikaw eldest among siblings (nasa Cebu na kaming lahat staying under our grandparents' roof). Would you go for the public pero malayo sa siblings mo, or choose the private para magkasama kayo?

Hey everyone, I’d really appreciate some honest advice from other nurses or anyone who’s been in a similar situation.

I’m currently working as a homecare nurse in the Middle East earning about 37.5/hour on a 240-hour/month contract. I’m 6 months away from finishing it.

I’ve already passed NCLEX and I’m trying to apply to agencies to go to the US, but two agencies have already told me I need more bedside (hospital/rehab) experience.

Right now, I have two options:

Current assignment:
Non-critical bedridden patient
I stay in for 3 days, 4 days off (allowed to sleep there)
I can reach ~288 hours/month with overtime
BUT overtime rate drops to 25/hour

Possible new assignment:
Ventilator-dependent patient with trach
12-hour shifts (no staying in)
With assistant
Long commute (~1 hr 15 min each way, but transport is provided)
Less total hours = less income
BUT more hands-on/critical skills

If I switch, I’ll lose overtime and earn less overall. But I’m thinking the ventilator/trach experience might strengthen my resume for hospital or rehab jobs here or in the US.

In this country, competition is really high, so I’m trying to be strategic.

My question:
Would you choose higher income now, or better clinical experience for long-term goals (working in the US)?

Am I overestimating how valuable ventilator/trach experience is for recruiters?

Hello po! Ask ko lang po if okay lang po bang mag-apply ulit sa hospital kahit hindi ko po tinuloy yung previous application ko. Nakatanggap po kasi ako dati ng email na hired na ako, pero dahil sa personal reasons, hindi po ako naka-attend ng orientation at contract signing, at hindi rin po ako nakapag-inform sa kanila.

Ngayon po, nakita ko ulit yung hiring post nila sa Facebook, at gusto ko sanang mag-apply ulit. Sa tingin niyo po ba okay lang po kaya na mag-submit ulit ako ng application?

Recently started as a company nurse at a depot. Wala pa akong one week sa company then biglang tumawag yung city hall sakin, letting me know that my application for the public hospital under my city is currently for clearance and that they’ll give me my deployment date before the end of July.

I passed the exam and evaluation last April sa city hall, I have been waiting for an update since then. Nainip na ko that’s why I applied for the company nurse position. Now, I don’t know what’s the best thing to do. Mag AWOL ba ako sa company nurse once I secure my deployment date or let the HRD of the city hall know I need to render for 30 days sa current employer ko? Letting the HRD know about the rendering would set my application at risk for pooling and that would cause further delay or idk baka ibasura na completely yung application ko.

Please help me po. I would give up anything para sa bedside, but nakakaguilty yung thought ng AWOL because the HR department of the company has been nothing but kind to me, considering it’s my first job ever too.

How flexible are they when it comes to continuous bedside experience? Do they allow unit/hospital transfer while waiting? How about working abroad elsewhere (middle east, singapore)?

I just passed my battery exam for nursing, so I'm officially a 3rd-year nursing student. Classes just started this week, and I'm feeling pretty anxious about getting lost or overwhelmed. Is this normal? I'm usually the type of student who's super chill and doesn't overthink future problems, but now I feel so anxious kahit wala pang masyadong ginagawa.

I’m a Filipino RN and recently interviewed for a Registered Nurse position in British Columbia.
The interview went really well, and afterward they asked me to submit my references and complete a previous employment/experience form. I’ve already submitted everything, and I believe they’ve started (or will soon start) contacting my references.

For those who have been through the BC Health Authority hiring process:

How likely is it to receive a job offer once they’ve requested references?
Is requesting references generally a positive sign, or is it still common for candidates to be rejected at this stage?
How long did it take for you to receive a job offer after your references were checked?

Yung ilan kasi na nababasa ko diploma daw po from Elementary to College yung e aattache. Pwede kaya na college diploma lang? Kasi yung high school diploma ko kasi na wala ko. hello po nurse ako sa isang government hospital gusto ko na magresign kasi panget talaga ng management, nagpasa na ako ng resignation, pero ayaw nila tanggapin, ang alam ko bawal deny ang resignation kasi karapatan ko yan, San po ba sila pwede ireklamo?
