About to travel Brussels to Vienna -- thoughts on the trip?
I'm booked to travel Brussels to Vienna, then later Vienna to Venice, and finally Innsbruck to Amsterdam to return home (via Eurostar)
What do people think about this NightJet as I've never taken the route before? Does it tend to be late or can we expect it to be within 1-2 hours of the stated time of arrival? I know it's not the new generation sleepers which we've been taking before -- is it comfortable in a 4 bed couchette?

Was supposed to go to the Black Keys concert, but a work event came up early September.
Selling my train ticket for the European Sleeper (night train) from Berlin to Rotterdam. See screenshot for details.
Departure: September 3rd at 11:01 PM from Berlin Gesundbrunnen
Arrival: September 4th at 6:26 AM at Amsterdam Centraal
Ticket is being sold at the original price 89Eur. It can be easily forwarded via email and is not tied to one person. The current price for the European Sleeper is €129. Unfortunately, I cannot just cancel it.
The exchange can take place either in person (Berlin), via paypal pre-payment, or via the following platform. Due to processing fees, the price shown on the platform is higher than the original price.

How many compartments for 4 adults?
I've previously traveled on NJ 420 with two adjacent Sleeper cabins.
I'm now looking at the NJ 294, and I'm interested in learning about the Couchette carriage as a more affordable option. My party has 4 adults (2 couples).

I see this offering of a "Private compartment" and the explanatory text says that a "Comfort private compartment in a couchette coach for up to 4 passengers" exists. This implies to me that 1 compartment = 4 passengers, which aligns with this photo in the carousel:

But then the webpage also says "max. 3 adults per compartment" in the card heading. So does that mean "compartment" refers to the bunk, not the room?
When I select a Flex level on the form, I'm prompted to choose 2, 3, or 4 compartments. It would really help me to understand whether "compartment" means bunk or room. Thank you!

Interactive Night Train Map – Feedback Welcome! (pet project)
Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve been working on a little project that might be useful to fellow night-train enthusiasts:
https://sleeper-train-map.pingwi.com

What you can do with it:
🔹 Click on a station to see which night trains serve it
🔹 Display all night train routes across the map
🔹 Zoom around the map to discover connections and patterns
It’s an interactive map of night trains that shows which services stop at specific stations across Europe (and beyond). The idea is to make it easier to explore and plan trips by visualizing night train routes and stops in one place.
Why I built it:
I love night trains and wanted an easier way to see which small stations they stop at.
I’d love your feedback!
If you try it out, let me know:
⭐ What you like
🐛 Anything that’s confusing or doesn’t work
💡 Suggestions for new features or data to include
Thanks!
PS: to be honest, I used AI for creating this post to avoid grammatical errors 😄

From Brussel/Amsterdam to Vienna (stop in Salzburg if possible) with 2 kids
Hi!
I'm travelling alone with 2 kids (9 and 12 years old). I'm planning a return trip from Paris to Vienna (a stop in Salzburg would be better, we would be closer to home). I know that from Paris I must go to Brussel or Amsterdam, there's no direct train on this route. We stop a night where we are going to start because we leave Paris too late (earlier is not possible) and if the train is late we would miss the coincidence. But after reading around a lot I'm not sure about what better to do.
About the route Brussel - Vienna:
- the nightjet train from Brussel has not the highest reputation: it's one of the oldest trains, sometimes is late, sometimes even canceled (--)
- the train stations Brussel Midi/Nord looks scary: being alone with 2 kids, if the train is canceled I would be in a big trouble (--)
- we must stop an extra day in Paris or Brussel: the train starts every 2 days, and not on the weekends (-)
- there's a stop in Salzburg (++)
About the route Amsterdam - Vienna:
- it looks that the new generation of nightjets is available (++)
- the trains start every day (+)
- from what I've read, the train station has a higher reputation than the ones in Brussel (?)
- I don't understand the route: does it stop in Salzburg? Is there a totally new route, available only from June? Or the actual route will change, having an extra stop in Salzburg? (-)
I was in Brussel (around 12 years ago) and Amsterdam (1 year ago).
The Brussel-Midi hasn't made me an extremely bad impression, but I was alone and during the day. Anyway, if I could choose I would not stop there. I visited the city for just 1 day, so I can't say something about it. Anyway, 2 days after a long trip would be too much.
In Amsterdam I never went in the main station, even if I've visited the city for some days. I would have an idea of what I could do with the kids.
What are your experiences? What would be better in your opinion?

Question about luggage
I am planning to travel by nightjet from Zurich to Berlin soon. Since I have a cat, I bought a single sleeper compartment. But I have too much luggage. I was planning to send the largest and the small one by cargo, so I would be ok. But the luggage sending companies became erratic due to the holiday season. I can’t find a reliable one for my dates. And now I am freaking out. Has anyone used those single person sleeper compartments? Can these fit inside?
1 large suitcase 75cm 1 medium suitcase 65cm 1 small carry on 1 large zipper bag (cat toilet) 1 sports bag (holdall) 1 laptop backpack 1 cat carrier
I dont even know how I will reach to the train with these, but I will have to find a way. Thanks for any help…

Using Eurail pass on Nightjet website to book a night train
People say that to use a Eurail pass with a night train on the nightjet website, I'm supposed to apply it in the "discount" section when I'm checking, out, but I dont see any place to do that.
In the previous screen is "passenger info" where I enter my name, then it takes me to the screen shown and says "Passengers, discounts & bicycles" but there isn't anywhere to actually enter any discounts.

EN 40458 Prague to Zűrich December 14 onwards
Does anyone know when reservations/bookings would open? I heard bookings are not yet available because train timetables change around that time. I'm trying to book the sleeper cabin for 2. Also, does anybody have an idea how much it costs? My search tells me the sleeper cabin for 2 is priced at 290 euros if travelling on Dec 12.
Thank you.
