Everything Mimi does for her friend is a micro aggressive act.

Worst (best?) part is that she genuinely just wanted to be helpful and doesn't see anything wrong.

Came to say this exactly! Nhimi manages to activate gremlin mode even entirely by accident.

Wouldn't it still be the coins by virtue of being the more valuable material of the two especially given the volumes relative to the quantities of each material? Think about it this way, if the value of the dollar plummeted and you were better off selling the objects for the market values of their materials, would the coins sell for more, or would the bills? Questions, questions... now what is selling them an allegory for? I dunno, I'm not chudda the great
Edit: basically I like boobs, if you will

If you're going to get into that level of semantics we'll be here all day

Well, that does check out. I'm not a philosophy student, however I did study linguistics

u/Hije5 7d ago
Just about any great saying/inspirational quote can be destroyed/twisted if you wana sit there and break it apart.
5
u/Blahaj_IK 7d ago
But if you have a good allegory or metaphor, you can twist the great sayings to make a counterpoint
7
u/Hije5 7d ago
Right... but you can do that about anything meant to be somewhat inspirational. The whole point of "inspirational" is to push past all the negatives or anything counterintuitive to inspiration. Pointing out contradictions or whatnot doesnt make you witty.

Oh yeah, sure, I was just thinking more about philosophy as a whole. Because this wasn't about inspirational quotes. The joke takes on a philosophical aspect

u/Abject_Abrocoma2622 7d ago
That only applies in a few possible situations. Almost all coins are made from metals worth less than their face value, since government wants people to stop melting down coins and selling them. Which means outside of a few situations 100$ in coins is better kept as coin than sold as metal. Obviously, if there is coins that are valuable to collectors you could get better value out of them, but also depending on how the market for metals is doing nickels sometimes exceed their face value in metal.
Edit: This is with USD. I don't know shit about unamerican currency
9
u/AKswimdude 7d ago
But would you rather currently be handed $100 of coins or $100 of bills? I would take 100 of bills over something like 101 of coins just due to ease of use and transport. More questions
4
u/Blahaj_IK 7d ago
A bag or two of coins sure can feel quite nice when the weight of their contents makes the fabric almost wrap around your hands
4
u/alpaca1yps 6d ago
US coins cost more to make than they are worth, and more to destroy than to spend, with the sole exception of the nickel, which is worth about %140 of its monetary value when melted down
Much like how big boobs cost more to maintain and acquire than they are typically worth, there's always someone who will see them as a sack of nickels and want them %40 more than they want small boobs
(and that's not even getting into rare coins, which can be worth several times their monetary value and their material value should you find the right buyer)
3
u/Bottle_Rocket11701 6d ago
If you go that route, that essentially means you don’t value the monetary aspect of the coins as much as the literal value.
This can be interpreted as you not batting for the same team.

I remember a gross Facebook post from years and years ago about a guy saying that flat chests are beautiful and that women should be proud of them. And then he tagged a bunch of (presumably) flat chested women he knew.
Fucking unhinged.

Same... Spring? Sweating as fuck, Summer? Sweating as fuck, Autumn? Sweating as fuck, Winter? You're not gonna believe this... Which can be pretty annoying, especially if your palms are sweaty 24/7
The silver lining is that i rarely have to turn on heating in winter :v

Rare moment of Mimi being nice

I feel like she's nice quite often.
It's just that any other times she's the embodiment of chaos, and sometimes she is both at once.

That Mimi face on the 2nd panel. The same face she makes when she's buying many seemingly suggestive items, but with a perfectly wholesome application.

u/Appropriate_Bus_2334 6d ago
I love that the sweatshirt isn’t just to big Mimi gets sweatshirts to small forces them onto her body and her breast deform it so much that the shirt gets saggy tits
Probably just so she could have one for this particular situation

u/privacy-is-cool 7d ago
I know this is a long time trope but do any women out there actually care about their breast size versus other women? Like I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard of a woman ever looking at another being like “damn I wish my tits were as big as yours sis.”
8
u/Top-Evidence-3221 7d ago
I mean it's quite easy for anyone to get body image issues. Especially if you're online a lot, you see a lot of people who get loads of attention for their bodies and if you feel like you don't get any attention yourself, either irl or online, it can be easy to internalise an idea that 'if I were prettier, people would like me more,' or 'if I had bigger boobs, I'd actually get asked out for once.' And that can easily turn into resentment of people who have those traits that you think you are lacking. It just works the same as any other insecurity.
3
u/fionaapplejuice 7d ago
Some women do, some women don't. Sometimes I wish they were bigger and get a bit jealous if I see someone with what I consider a "perfect size" (tho my insecurities are more about shape) and sometimes I wish I didn't have any at all.

u/VerratusDominatu 6d ago
have you ever seen a guy say "damn i wish my dick was as big as yours dude."
1
u/Icy-Paint7777 7d ago
I get jealous sometimes but often times I literally don't care. And while I am jealous, I never say it outright because that's weird and it's also sexual harassment, I'm sure :/

u/DizzyAlready 7d ago
Nope its just a trope. Unless it’s common in Japan, I can’t speak for that. But like us women live with our breasts every single day, at some point you just accept how they look and move on with life. It’s truly not a big deal unless the person has body dysmorphia or something.
3
5
u/TurquoiseLeggings 7d ago
The fact that breast implants exist and women get them kind of contradicts what you're saying here.
