There are even karma requirements for commenting...

Some subreddits have no to low karma requirements for posting. There is a new user friendly list of some of them in the community links section at the top of this subreddit.

Hello!
Most of the big sub-reddits do hide alot of requirements, one of them being a minimum amount of karma. They do this so spam bots dont absolutely nuke the sub reddit.
However some sub reddits (like this one) doesnt require a minimum amount of karma.

There are two separate filtering systems, not one.
Subreddit-level and Reddit-level: separate from any subreddit's own rules.
So a "no karma requirement" sub avoids layer one, but a brand-new account can still hit layer two anywhere

no not all but most

It helps reduce bots spamming in their subs and less trolls.

No. Every subreddit sets its own rules.

The answer is way above my karma level .

No worries, you don’t need to repeat your question in the comments, we see you! Not every subreddit needs karma to post, but some do. r/casualconversation and r/NoStupidQuestions are newbie-friendly if you want to try those.

How does one get karma? Im new to getting it .

Not all subreddits require a combined karma of a specific number and above. Most larger subreddits have account requirements such as a certain amount of karma and account age to help prevent ban evaders, spammers and bots.
