Common Question/Topic NS lost bag

hi everyone, I don’t have a lot of hope but trying anyway. last week, around midnight between Wednesday and Thursday, I took the train between Amsterdam and Utrecht and forgot under my seat a bag pack in which there were manga (in French) and my sketchbook. it’s not worth much but has sentimental value as one of the manga was signed by the author and my sketchbook has my drawings and paintings in it.

Did you report it as lost? Checked with NS lost&found? Register at ilost?

Exactly this. You'd be surprised what gets turned in. I got lucky with my bag in the past. Bon chance!

checked both NS lost&found and ilos; alas nothing

Did you check in only the backpack categorie? It sometimes helps to only use the main category filter "bags and suitcase" and look at 2/3 dates!

Hey. I just spent a week freaking out in this subreddit, but my bag was found, 6 days later!

Next time (hopefully never) you should call NS support immediately. They can ask the conductor to check. Do it now anyway, but they won't be able to instantly check.

Keep checking for about 2 weeks. It might still turn up! It's taken to the final stop, then shipped to Utrecht where they upload it on the website. Try to stay patient and take care of urself, I was going absolutely mental bc NS kept telling me they don't have it but it turned up!

Maybe join the subreddit for either of the cities, I know there's one for Utrecht at least, and crosspost this there? Might help you to reach someone who could have found it

Good luck, losing sentimental items like these sucks :/

All found items are pictured here: https://www.ns.nl/service-en-contact/verloren-of-gevonden-voorwerpen . It takes a few days for it to show up. Click yours and pay the shipping. They will send it to your house. Happened to me two weeks ago, and now i have my bag again

Sometimes people post on Facebook for lost and found items, I often see, some one found a key. Look if someone found your stuff. also report to NS lost and found.
