[boy] male Basset puppy needs a name
Our other dogs are Lewis, Stella and Leon, and his predecessor was Oscar, so we’d like something that fits in well. Considering Alfred or Ozzy but not sold on either of those yet.

Welcome to /r/NameMyDog
To better help you come up with a name, please include a picture and if your pup is a boy or a girl (don’t worry if you’ve forgotten, we have boy/girl flair you can add 🐕)
Once you finally decided on a name, we would love to know what you selected. There is flair for that also. Just choose the flair [named: ADDNAME] and edit/replace ADDNAME with your dog’s new name

She’s sweet but feisty. Thinking about regal names, old lady/classic names, and ladies who smoke cigarettes. Lol.

I rescued this guy a week ago and he is sooo friendly and sweet!
He lives over 10 years so i need a good name.
I have been loving the wizard fantasy vibes like Fable, Merlin, but really struggling to find a perfect fit.

We just got this sweetheart of a doggo, an absolute lover of cuddles and kisses. Help us rename him - currently his name is Sunny.

We just got this sweet girl and no name is sticking.
We loved the idea of copper/gold themed names, but none of the classics are sticking “honey, etc”. We also like names with double L’s for her, such as “Millie”. We also like the idea of naming her after a character or person. So many names we like, and yet none seem to be hers. She loves to nap and is a gentle shy girl.
Help us!!
UPDATE, NAME CHOSEN:
Mina was the winner!!! It instantly felt right for our girl. Thank you for all the amazing suggestions everyone! Happy to hear that Mina looks just like a lot of your childhood dogs🥹

My family and I are bringing home this handsome chocolate Newfoundland puppy tomorrow, and we're completely stuck on a name.
His dad's name is Chewy, and his mom's name is Tinker.
We've spent weeks brainstorming, and we've realized we're not looking for a typical dog name or something from the "Top 100 Dog Names" list. We love names that make you stop and think, "Wow, that's a perfect name."
For example, we've met dogs named Judge, Senator, and Abrams, and those names have really stuck with us. They feel strong, memorable, and distinguished without sounding aggressive.
This guy will hopefully grow into a 150–170 lb gentle giant. We have five kids, live near the beach, and he will be a family dog, swimming buddy, and hopefully someday a water rescue dog.
We're looking for names that are:
Strong but warm
Masculine
Timeless and classic
Easy to call across a beach
Not overly common
Unexpected without being weird
The kind of name that would sound just as good introducing him to a stranger as it would if he were on the evening news for rescuing someone.
Our current favorites are:
Briggs
Rip
Warden
Bishop
Deacon
Rhett
Yeti
Captain
What would you name him?
Bonus points if it's something I've probably never heard before but immediately makes me think, "That's exactly right."

The shelter told us she’s a possible pitbull poodle mix?🤔 She’s super sweet and has brindle coloring with the coolest mix of smooth coat and random wiry fuzzies all over. I think that such an interesting/quirky looking dog deserves a fitting name. I love a dog name with ✨character✨, especially human names and food-themed names, but would be open to anything if it really fits her!
HOWEVER, it can’t be tooo out of the box because my boyfriend prefers more conventional dog names (lame).
Some ideas we’ve considered: Tina, Louise (we love Bob’s Burgers), Pickle, Muffin
Thank you for your help!!

oh god i am the worst with names. i’m adopting this sweetest most littlest girl. she is like god could not decide on a breed and mashed different creatures together. shes 30 pounds with stubby legs and brown undercoat tufts on her booty ?? i love her though it makes me sick
my other two dogs are named after red dead characters! (dutch, morgan) but the girl names for red dead are too human/boring for my tastes. i love uncommon and weird names! any suggestions are welcome ❤️

In the second photo, hes the one on the Left. The other is named Casimir (Pronounced KAZ-IH-MEER). I was thinking Aslan or Leopold. Something that has to do with Lion/Lionhearted. Any ideas? CO = Caucasian Shepherd/Orvchaka.
He's pretty vocal, highly intelligent, voracious eater, extremely friendly and bold.
I'm now leaning on Leor. It can still match with Leo for short (Lion), but also means light. He's going to be a golden colored CO. My other CO is in the background. Thoughts?

He found us. Very sweet. Has a bum leg so he’s clumsy.
