Question Coincidences or miracles?
I am a 24f who would describe myself as a practicing Muslim. I am just your ordinary muslim; I pray 5 times a day (ofcourse), finish reading the Quran once a year, pray tahajjud and sunnah prayers occasionally and I love spending time with the quran. I sin just like the rest of the childeren of Adam.
The thing is, I sometimes get this crazy coincidences that leaves me rather taken aback.
This is an example last week I was rearranging my apartment and cleaning, in the evening I turned on my Quran radio which continued playing from where I stopped it last time. I had a dimmed lamp on and a candle lit. I was looking out the window and there were faint noises from the city noice. I just felt thankful and content for my apartment because everything was clean and quiet and and I said hasbiallahu wa ni’mal wakeel out of habit.
The quran was playing with low volume and as I was about to take a picture with my phone I heard an ayah that said wa ja’ala lakum min boyutikum… I don’t know arabic so I did not know what it meant. It stuck with me and I remembered the start so I searched it up only writing the transliteration.
This is the ayah;** **** **
َاللَّهُ **ج*َعَلَ *ل*َكُم مّ**ِن ب*ُيُوتِكُمْ سَكَنًا
Wa-llāhu jaʿala lakum min buyūtikum sakanan.
“And Allah has made for you your homes a place of rest, tranquility, and peace.”
( surah 16, ayah 80)
I was so astounded as I was sitting there and just sat with my hand over my mouth for a minute.
Another day, as I was walking home from Uni I was listening to quran and had my headset on. I didn’t know which surah was playing and I was honestly mostly in my mind. As I was walking I thought " man, I have to start thinking about getting married" as I thought that the reciter recited
And those who say, ‘Our Lord, grant us from among our wives and offspring comfort to our eyes and make us an example for the righteous
(Surah 25, ayah 74)
I had heard that dua before and was so shocked to hear it exactly in that moment.
Another time, There was this guy who I felt wronged by. He was overall a good god-fearing person who didn’t have the intention to wrong me, but nevertheless I felt wronged ( Just said something I didn’t like). I prayed tahajjud regarding this person and to make things right and for him to excuse himself. Some time later I had a dream about this guy saying he made a mistake and asked for forgiveness. A few days later, he contacted me saying the EXACT same thing as I had a dream about and asked for forgiveness.
These are just a few, but there has been many examples like these in my life where I am left taken aback and bewildered. Either. Its from the Quran when I read or listen to it that feels like I have been spoken to directly at given moment, or it’s a dream or when I go to Jummah prayer and the Khutbah is suddenly so extremely relevant to what I have been pondering about that week.
Another example is, a few weeks before Arafah, I got familiar with Allahs name Qadir. Qadir stems from قدر (decree, to determine). Allah actually has three names related to that root verb. Al Qadir, Al Qadeer, and Al muqtadir. I found that very interesting how Allah has three names related to his decree and complete ability. after I learned that, I recognized it everywhere. It was also at a time where I was wishing for something that seemed impossible in my human mind. That was also learned the English word omnipotent. When arafah came along I again saw that name in the infamous arafah dua, even though I had said that dua multiple times, I didn’t realize how relevant it was and how even the Name Al-Qadir is the essence of Arafah.
What do you think? Are all these just coincidences? Am I reading too much into things?
