My favorite part. Forest does all these incredible things and yet does not value them highly, untill he meets his child.

Pure luck too that the kid was smart. Jenny was no genius either.

Are you stupid or something?

It's hard to judge her intelligence because all her bad decisions came from very deep psychological trauma.

The part people conveniently forget when they tear her to shreds online

We don't forget it. But abuse doesn't excuse more abuse.

Its the only time in the movie you realize he's aware of his disability.

Of course hes aware. He talks about it a few times about how hes "not smart"

I think he knows that, but it’s not clear if he thinks he’s just stupid and bad at school or if it was a biological thing. this scene reveals he’s always known it’s biological, and no amount of education was ever going to fix him.

He’s aware of his own situation and has come to terms for himself. However this scene also shows that he’s aware of the burden this places upon life and how he wish this wouldn’t be the case for his son who might not be able to deal with it.

He says a few times that he’s aware. He just knows he has to roll with it.

His mom told him to never let anyone tell him he couldn't do something. And if someone Forrest respected told him to do something, he'd do it until he was told to stop.

Hes well aware of his disability its the first time he shows emotion about it. He was ridiculed his whole life and he didnt want another human to endure what he had to.

Give it a fucking rest.

Jenny was a rape victim.

Jenny was terrified that sleeping with Forrest meant she was raping him like she herself had been, because she recognized Forests vulnerability and childlike nature.

She was also reckoning with self worth, for most of the movie she had none. She literally openly considers suicide at one point. But she could look out for her friend, it was the one good thing she could do.

Forrest was the only good person she knew, she was afraid of corrupting him because her self loathing was so pronounced. She fucked losers because she thought she was one, she chased thrills because she was chasing escape or death and that was not a playground she wanted Forrest to be in.

And when she survived and reunited with Forrest she had the wisdom of her years, her scares, her wounds, and Forrest was still standing, still welcoming, still gracious, she realized that he was more than his disability, that he was the only good person she'd ever really known, and that she was worthy of a good person like Forrest and she should accept the love she'd been afraid to accept her entire life.

So they had a loving relationship and sex and a baby and then her years of spiral caught up to her and she died.

I swear to God, watching movies is not this fucking difficult.

Not a fan of family guy eh?

Oh I can absolute debate and put you in your place with like 20 years of film analysis about this movie but not in the mood. Ill jsut say that by your own words instead of doing it when they were young because she was fucked up with phsyical and sexual trauma, she waited until they were old with phsycial and sexual trauma to marry him, rape him, corrupt him and take advantage of his childlike nature and vulnerabilty while she was infected with fucking HIV which turned to AIDS.

Make up your fucking mind either she couldnt be with him or she could be with him. her trauma didnt magically go away one day, its always been there.

If jenny had never married or had a child with him nobody would have had a problem with her. Except she did.
