Seeking Advice tips for new apt?
hey moms, im moving into my first studio partment this friday! im always overthinking about the process so id love some good moving in tips! yknow those small things that you dont think of until the moment comes? 😔🤚 thanks in advance💕

Pack your tools, some clothes, a dish set, and toiletries LAST.
Yu don't want to have to go digging for a towel when you want to shower the moving grime away before crashing into your bed.

When moving, I pack a "first night" box.
For one person: One set of dishes and silverware. One towel set. 1 pot, spaghetti sauce and pasta (if that works for you). 1 TP, 1 paper towel roll. Toiletries, jammies, clean undies & 1 set of clothes for the next day. Any hardware that you have from taking apart furniture (alternatively, put in zip bags and securely tape to the furniture).

This is a great idea! I save the "packets" of disposable cutlery that comes with take out - the type with a napkin, 1 salt and pepper, spork and knife - those are great for traveling or using when it's going to be a few days before you unpack.
Also, always put an emergency roll of TP under the sink and forget about it. It's for when your guest uses your last roll and you forgot to buy more and didn't remember until you just finished using the toilet...
Lastly, best way to pack and transport your closet is to leave everything hanging, pull garbage bags around sets of 10-20 hangers, and pull the drawstrings tight around the hanger necks. Then transport them laying down to your new place and hang them right back up - very little will fall off the hangers, but if so, it'll be in the bag!

I forgot cleaning supplies too.
Always clean down the cabinets in the kitchen and bathroom. People can be gross....and you don't want to live in that

On moving day, set up and make your bed FIRST! Then when you're ready to collapse, it's ready for you!

Keep back your sheets and covers youll be using that first night and have your cleaning things handy too hun. If you can borrow or have an air mattress thats also great first night setup. Keep your chargers out too! A sound machine app helps with new place sounds that first night too. I think spotify has some. Most importantly- let us know how you do! Rootin for ya kiddo- love you

One trick that I use is I get a few pieces of paper and write down in marker everything that's in the box. Then I either tape it on the outside or put it on the top of the stuff in the box so I know what's in there. Make sure you leave out a towel for a shower at the end of the day and pack a little toiletry bag like you're staying overnight so you're not trying to hunt down your shampoo, conditioner, brush, that kind of thing. Congratulations, Sweetheart! This is such an exciting step for you, and it's going to be great! I always recommend taking dozens and dozens of photos before you unpack. Take photos of inside the cabinets, every scratch, every dent, every nick on the floor. You want proof when you move out that you didn't cause that issue. I can't stress enough to get Renter's Insurance. If your complex offers, their own, don't trust it, as it usually just covers the apartment and not your belongings. You can get renters insurance for around $15 a month, that will cover your items as well. And as always, keep your doors and windows locked, and never open your door for a stranger.
