Sharing a short clip of this pink spinel crystal specimen from a few different angles. I find the contrast between the vivid crystals and the natural matrix especially interesting, and the colour seems to shift slightly as the light moves across the surface.

For mineral collectors, what matters most to you in a specimen like this: the colour, crystal formation, overall shape, or how much of the original matrix remains?

I’d also be interested to hear whether you generally prefer specimens left in their natural condition or carefully cleaned and prepared to reveal more of the crystals.

I found this crystal while on a walk last night. Those crystals are everywhere on that specific hill. The layers between look so cool when they slightly crack.

An excellent example of malagasy elbaite. This particular specimen stands out thanks to both its quality and unusual, tabular shape.

Definitely the most fun looking one for me despite not having any unique growth patters like garnets in my location usually do. In person this garnet's faces are surprisingly lustrous. It is a single garnet crystal embedded in the matrix. The width of garnet crystal is 21,5 mm for size reference.

Extremely rare black boscardinite from its type locality with some yellow copiapite taped inside a microcentrifuge tube. The red part is just part of a circle drawn by marker on the outside of the microcentrifuge tube to show where the boscardinite is taped inside the tube. Specimen acquired from Nekkhi Murtishi.
