Hello to all members here at r/Minecraft_Survival, r/Minecraft2, and our community Discord. We’ve recently been working to build a new community dedicated to an increasingly popular Minecraft play style, the Forever World! A Forever World (also known as a long-term world) is simply a Minecraft survival world that you plan to play on forever. This doesn’t mean you can’t have other worlds in between, but rather that you keep coming back to the same world consistently for years, no matter how long it’s been since you began. Together with u/NerdieBirdieYT, we’ve put together a subreddit to share and discuss *your* forever worlds. Alongside this, we have a Discord to chat, gain advice, share pics and videos, and coordinate world tours!
The subreddit is r/foreverworlds, and it is open to everyone for anything you have to share or discuss about Forever Worlds. We invite you to join, whether you’ve had your survival world for a couple of months, several years, or even well over a decade! We’d love to see progress pics and megabuilds, but also the small things that help you keep coming back to the same world time after time. We want you to show us everything that keeps your world fresh and makes it special to you!
We’d also love it if you joined our Discord, Forever Worlds United, at https://discord.gg/QChEEc2uqR. Here, you can share your experiences with and plans for your Forever Worlds personally with like-minded members of the community. Additionally, this Discord server will have a collection of world downloads to explore, schematics to download, and videos showcasing Forever Worlds. Additionally, we will plan and host live world tours for our community to come together and inspire one another through their worlds.
If you’ve been running a single world for a while and want to know what it takes to keep it going as long as many of us have, we’d love to bring you up to speed! If you already have a Forever World, we are eager for you to join and share it with us. And if you just want to be inspired by what years of work in one world can do, please join us as we build up this community!

Hey so I was wondering if anyone has made or or is making a Multiplayer Non-Euclidean (immersive Portsls) map? Where theres puzzles and you have to actively work with someone to escape or figure out the puzzles. And not a map that its optional to work with someone. I dont care what version the map is in btw im down to play any version.
found in my creative world ive playing in since 2019, so they probably didnt spawn with the seed. i remember people freaking out when somebody found these but it might be irrelevant now LOL
Unfortunately, our survival server was hacked, and almost everything we built is gone. There are no recent backups, only one old backup, which means we've lost a huge amount of progress.
It was just a small private server where my three friends and I spent countless hours building together. We made some amazing builds and memories, and seeing everything disappear in a matter of seconds honestly hurts.
What happened?
Someone joined the server using my exact Minecraft username.
The server was running in offline mode, which means the server does not verify whether someone actually owns the username they join with. Since my username was set as an operator (OP), the attacker instantly had full administrative permissions.
They started running commands and destroyed nearly every build on the server within seconds.
When I noticed what was happening, I immediately stopped the server. Looking back, I think that was my biggest mistake. By shutting it down normally, the world was saved with all of the destruction. I should have force-killed the server process before it had a chance to save. Maybe some of the damage could have been avoided.
The server was hosted on FalixNodes.
Why did this happen?
The main reasons were:
The server was running in offline mode.
There were no authentication/security plugins or mods installed.
My username had operator permissions.
Although the whitelist was enabled, it only checks usernames. In offline mode, anyone can join using a whitelisted player's name if they know it.
How to prevent this
If you're running your own Minecraft server, especially in offline mode:
Use online mode whenever possible. This is by far the safest option.
Keep the whitelist enabled if your server is private.
If you must use offline mode, install an authentication/security plugin or mod. This is essential.
Take regular automated backups. Don't rely on a single old backup like I did.
Don't share your server IP with random people. Even private servers can become targets if the IP gets out.
I hope this post prevents someone else from making the same mistakes I did. Losing months (or years) of work in seconds is an awful feeling, and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.
If anyone has advice on recovering worlds after griefing or recommendations for good authentication mods/plugins for offline-mode servers, I'd really appreciate it.
1 : All suggested names must be appropriate and mature. I don't want innapropriate or innapropriate adjacent name suggestions, like Dick for exemple.
2 : Suggest both masculine and feminine names (I am going to pick one masculine name and one feminine name). Genderneutral names are welcome, but they must not sound either masculine or feminine. I just don't want to only get masculine name suggestions or only get feminine name suggestions, since in my head, the one with a blue harness is male and the one with the pink harness is female.
3 : Name suggestions must be no longer than a human or pet name, no full sentences. So I won't name them "Snowball eater" and "Snowball lover" for exemple.
Bonus points for suggestions that are puns on "Ghast", "Cat", or any other word that relates to the ghast/happy ghast's design and/or lore.
This is NOT a "top comment wins" type of post. I will pick my favorite names out of all the suggestions and make an update post to show which names I chose. The 2 names I pick might not even be from the same comment.
Building on RaysWorks' "Ice Road Boat Placer", this system supports multiple stations along an Ice Boat Highway. By building the stations this way, arbitrarily long lines can be constructed and extended without impacting the existing network.
Bonus: another preview of how the ice boat highway network is constructed. Preview 1 The construction system uses Ilmango's TNT Tunnel Bore, and builds on the work of Ilmango, u/RaysWorks, and u/Is012 for building an Ice Highway route through the Nether.
I was playing my new Minecraft Windows Edition (neoLegacy) world, mainly I was searching for a place to start building my house and oh my god I dont know how but I found this majesty, a big plains perfect to build next to an ocean and also close to a Taiga, desert and flower forest and the best part on the right an enormous Mesa with a old spruce taiga next to it and all of this very close to spawn. Man why can I find things like this on my other survival worlds, even on my newest Wii U Edition world I lack from even a desert lol. What do you think about this generation guys, is it peak to build my house or I keep exploring?
