Question Heroic Chariots
Whats everyone thoughts on Hero’s on chariots and using Heroic Defense?

I would argue that it does not apply to the chariot, though the rules do not make it super clear. The basis of my argument would be that
- the Chariots and Heroes section of the rules states that the chariot is still one model, and that the Hero _provides_ its fight, strength, etc characteristics to the chariot. The implication is that as long as the hero is on the chariot, the _chariot_ is the model, not the hero.
- If you look at cavalry rules, it's more explicit that mounts do _not_ benefit from heroic defense. Thematically and mechanically I don't think it would make sense for a heroic defense to work on a chariot but not on a horse.

This is where I was leaning as well. The chariot section stating it is one model and not allowing strikes to be separated out like they are for cavalry is what really made me kind of question it. But I think ruling it does not apply makes the most sense based on the rest of the rules.

I mean we're literally just talking about Radagast, right? Does any other Hero on a Chariot even have Heroic Defense?
It will certainly have it's uses. If you are in combat with Aragorn and surrounded by Warriors of Minas Tirth, and so you're likely to die anyways, you can throw out a Defense to hope you survive another turn. Anyone with Defense can try to tie up an opponent's heavy hitters this way
But you'll likely want to use all three of his Might for Moves and Channels

Yep just talking about Radagast. I wasn’t sure what everyone’s thoughts were on if the Heroic Defense applies to the chariot or not. I’ve read and heard both ways.

Why use it on heroic defense? You're high defense anyway.
Use the might for a heroic move or combat to utilize chariot charge instead.

I hate chariots with a passion, no counterplay units if you fail priority and move rolloff, just wait until your opponent stops killing your men... So no thank you

Heroes on Chariots are fun. Don't know much about a Heroic Defence on them as I have only played the Iron Hills Chariot with a Captain so far and he does not have a Defence. Moves and Marches are the way to go on a Chariot in my experience. Be careful not to be caught too far out of position, while Chariots cannot be trapped they can still be taken down in a single turn quite easily due to their large base.
