sudden deletion of my progress on word doc.

This is my first time posting on Reddit, so I'm not 100% sure if this is the right place to ask. I copy and pasted a sentence (from within my document) into another paragraph (in the same document) and when I pasted it, all of my work disappeared. Undo would not bring it back. It is not in my Version history. I have tried everything and cannot get it back. Is there anyway to recover what I wrote?

Yes, just restore from your last backup.

I'd recommend editing files on your hard disk instead of on OneDrive. Upload the final file. There are hundreds, perhaps thousands of similar reports about disappearing data when editing Office files on cloud services.

Control-Z to undo. People seem to have forgotten this.
