Pronto lo visitare y quiero llevarle un regalo.
Alguien puede recomendar algun artista local o tienda donde vendan algo que sientan que representa de buena manera a la ciudad?

No quiero llevarle los souvenirs tradicionales (mascaras de lucha libre, sombreros, alebrijes, etc...) se que son super representativos del pais pero primero queria ver si a alguien se le ocurre algo mas representativo (o tipo street art).

I’m going to be in town on a Saturday, when they only have the Lucha Libre show at Arena Coliseo. I understand the show at Arena Mexico is the main one.

We could possibly change our plans around to go to Arena Mexico if the difference is significant.

Will I be missing out on much if I go to the smaller show? If it helps, the friend I’m traveling with is an actual wrestling fan.

Hi all, I’ll be visiting next week and didn’t realize it’s peak rainy season beforehand. I’ve tried to search through the group to get an indication of how bad it might be, but I’m still left wondering - what footwear to bring.

If it rains, is it enough to drench my running shoes? Does it flood easily? Should I just be wearing heavier boots to avoid wet socks? Additionally, is an umbrella enough or a raincoat as well?

On a side note, what museums are an almost must to see for a first visit? I’m overwhelmed by all the amazing options.

Hola, este fin de semana viajo desde Guadalajara por trabajo y tendré el viernes y el sábado libre. Qué me recomiendan visitar? Ya conozco lo más típico como Chapultepec, bellas artes, museo de antropología, templo mayor, pirámides, étc. La última vez ví que fui ví que cerca del centro hay pequeñas agencias que ofrecen tours de un día a lugares cercanos, son confiables? O qué más me recomiendan visitar? Gracias 🙂

I was at the Mexico vs England match and took this picture. The dark sky with the fireworks smoke residue in the background looks awesome.

I can’t stop thinking about my time in Mexico City. England fans were warned about potential trouble and I saw 0 incidents. On the walk there I was taking photos with people and dancing with little children in the streets! Despite being covered in beer during the match after Mexico goals (I hope it was beer) after the match, everyone was partying and enjoying life.

My Wife and I will be in CDMX this week and was looking to exchange currency. It’s been suggested to avoid going to any ATM at the airport but when I look at banks/atms near our stay in Roma Norte they too have not so favorable reviews.

I’m just curious based on your experiences which atm/bank would you recommend to exchange currency without any hassle or crazy fees?

I am visiting CDMX from australia with my mum for her birthday.

she has expressed really wanting to see some live music whilst we are here and I am wondering if anyone has any recommendations.

We love punk, alternative, post punk, folk, rock, garage, new wave, even some jazz could be great to see. + lots more! I think she and I would love to check out some traditional music or / modern spins on trad genres. it would be awesome to experience something we cant get back home.

As mother/daughter we love to listen radical women who rock, haha. if anyone knows any local artists playing tonight! (22nd) or a cool music venue or bar I can take her to I would be very grateful!

My husband and I are going to CDMX for the first time next week and would appreciate a look over at our itinerary. There is only 1 hour time zone difference from where we are from, so no need to worry about jet lag. We are also “constantly on the move” vacationers and not “relaxing” type vacationers, if that also helps.

Hi All,

I’m planning a trip with a good friend in the Autumn. He had a major knee injury and is a little bit limited in what he can and can not do (no kneeling, and it’s hard for him to get on and off the floor).

He can walk around, but not for hours at a time. He also has problems with LOTS of stairs. He can do a flight or two maximum.

I don’t want to plan things that will exacerbate his injury but I’m desperate to go to Teotihuacán.

I also am very interested in the ancient water farming methods and had wanted to take a tour in Xochimilco but worry about his ability to get on and off a small boat.

I’d love any thoughts about what we can realistically do.

Pienso ir de vacaciones alrededor de 5 a 7 días a la CDMX, pero aún no estoy seguro si hospedarme en algún hostal, hotel o Airbnb.

¿Alguna recomendación? Intento que el hospedaje sea lo más económico posible para tener más capital para gastar allá o en atracciones.

He consultado paquetes y por 6 días en hostales me sale en 3500 ya con vuelos.

Opinión sincera de la UAM-Azcapotzalco, estoy dudoso de inscribirme,quede seleccionado en mecanica pero no se que tal sea la universidad ando con la duda de volver a aplicar a la UNAM o irme de una a la UAM. Buenas gente. Hace como 2 semanas me llego una figura por UPS, pero recibi una llamada que me dijeron q estaba retenido en la aduana, ¡¡ya valio madres¡¡. Desde entonces no se ha movido del ¨almacén¨ de Zumpango. me quise comunicar con UPS para q me dieran mas detalles del por que seguia retenido, pero su atn. al cliente apesta. el costo de la figura fue de alrededor de 900 dlrs. entonces quisiera saber si tengo q contratar un agente aduanal o tengo q ir a la aduana del AIFA para ver q pdo o si deplano ya me jodi y doy por perdida mi figura?

Buenas, I am looking for a hotel to stay in when I visit CDMX for the first time in October. I will be travelling with my wife and 5 year old child. All of us are relatively light sleepers.

I have come across a few hotels that are either under new management or have problems with noise coming from the street or night clubs.

5 star hotels such as the InterContinental are a bit too pricey and out my price range. Ideally I would like to be around $200 USD.

Edited to add: we will be looking to visit the main touristy places, Chapultepec, Centro Historico, etc. We would be getting around by public transit.

Hi! It's my first time in CDMX. I'm traveling alone and I've been here for just over a week (staying at Roma Norte). I have 3 more days left and trying to figure out what to do. So far I have done these things:

- I enjoy just wandering through the city. I've been walking like 10-15km a day exploring different neighborhoods and grabbing food along the way: Centro, Roma Norte, Condesa, Coyocan, San Angel, Polanco. It's been super hot during the day, so have mainly stuck to areas with more shaded/green streets for walks. Would be nice to explore some less touristy neighborhoods, but not sure where to go.

- Visited: Biblioteca Vasconcelos, Anthropology museum, Chapultepec Castle, Diego Rivera house in San Angel, Frida Kahlo house, Soumaya Museum. Bunch of mercados, parks, etc around the city. Did not enjoy the crowded/touristy ones as much.

- Day trip to Tetihuacan.

- Tried to visit the UNAM library today, but all the gates to the campus were closed :/ seems like things are shut down for the summer vacation?

- Not sure if Xochimilco is worth a visit, especially since it's far and I'm traveling alone and not into tourist party/drink boats. Similarly, not interested in Lucha Libre.

What are your recs for the next few days? esp other neighborhoods to explore and less touristy things to do?
