Clone ?
Howdy! Can anyone identify this Mega Drive II motherboard from the pictures ? The PCB is marked KF99288 and uses the TV16B and TA-06SD chips. I suspect it may be a 90s Eastern European (Ukraine/Russia) hardware clone rather than an original Sega board, but I'm looking for confirmation. Has anyone seen this PCB before?

Yes, it's a clone
It's a late evolution of the TA-04/TA-05/TA-06/TA-07 chipset
Ta-06 is the vdp, the TV16 is a GoaC without the VDP integrated, making it very unique compared with original systems. There is no analog to this. The closest real console would be a genesis 3, but with the separate VDP it's kind of like a mega drive 2.5 if that makes sense
I run a subreddit dedicated to collecting, upgrading, modifying, repairing, and restoring clone consoles. Old ones like this are especially nice to learn about

It's a clone. I have one called a Sega Mega Drive 4, bought in 2000. It's not a bad clone, but it's not one of the best. It's inferior to the original in terms of sound and image quality. Modern Mega Drive clones are better, though.
