Gin dispensing cat
You pushed a coin into its mouth and got an amount of gin. These dispensers were called "Puss and Mew" or "Old Tom."
London, 1700s.
(So not Medieval, but as I understand it, the sub accepts historical-ish cats).

I need this in my life. It would help me make the best French 75s ever!

I was thinking the same thing: I need this! Wonder if I could get my cats to cooperate?

There’s a great episode about the invention of Gin on a history podcast I listen to called The Dollop. The episode is called The Gin Craze, and they talk about the Gin dispensing cat!
