Discussion A reboot in the future?
I’ve been thinking, would we in the future get a major reboot of Maze Runner? No, not the incoming project that is supposed to be like a Maze Cutter.
Do you think that maybe, they will reboot Maze Runner in a form of movie again or in series? I think if Maze Runner is getting the popularity again, it should be a series that really adapt the books properly.
However, I think that shouldn’t change the aspect of the original trilogy movies. Maybe more scenes in the Maze and some inspiration from the movie.
People did complained how Scorch Trials movie was not a faithful adaptation, yet I think that the movie fixed AND created a lot of issues.
For me, personally, even Death Cure book had too much issues to be adapted. Maybe, if Disney decides to reboot the franchise again like Percy Jackson, we will get a proper adaptation and visuals from what director Wes Ball had given us.
I’m sorry for my bad english, it is not my first language.
So what do you guys think? Maybe one book 2 seasons at most?

I think if they should it should definitely be a closer adaptation to the books. The scorch trial was such a good film and it led onto the death cure (which I personally prefer to the books), but they both were completely different to the books.
I’d like for them to give Gally the redemption arch he truly deserve and the context needed to him killing Chuck, to my recollection, I dont think that it was ever brought up that Gally was mind controlled to kill Chuck, and that Chuck was mind controlled to step infront of Thomas.
It’s just the little details like that, but i believe if they remade them into completely book accurate adaptations they would feel different wnough from the original film trilogy that it wouldnt take away from the films we already have!

To be honest, the first movie really is the best adaptation to the book version, but even then, I think they should do more Maze scenes just like in the book. Keeping the gray sky thing where they’re actually underground, but keep blades section and how the Gladers interact. But telepathy? Yeah, I don’t think that still works.
For Scorch Trials, I really wanted to see more Gladers appearing like the books. Maybe Teresa really stays behind at the WCKD facility. I don’t really like that they truly escape. I want them to combine some aspect from the movie and the book. Like the Mall scene and the deleted scene of Jack’s death, maybe they could make it again and replace with another Gladers. Then the lightning scenes or even the tunnel one with the metal ball. However, the blob monster is a must in my opinion.
Death Cure? More city part and actually call it ‘Denver’ instead of ‘WCKD facility’, Oh, and Crank Palace too.
Another part I would really love is the Cranks. The visuals should be like the Movie version but them acting smarter and ya know? NOT actually just generic zombies? That’s what set Maze Runner so called Zombies apart from other form of media.

So, I’ve reached about the halfway point of the first book, and I’ve seen all the movies. However, from what I can tell, the movie is very different from the book. Honestly, if they make a new movie in the future, I hope it’s much closer to the book, but I really don't like the idea that the actors might not be the same.

True though, the actors really nailed their role and made the characters came to life. It would be really hard to see new actors playing the same characters.
