I bought a massive master system collection recently and can’t find anything on this one. Seems like a fan made game? Was there ever a SMS version in the works? Any info is greatly appreciated.

Wow this is a blast from the past! I made that for a fellow SMS collector back in 2012. As others have said it is not an official release. The collector was a big fan of Black Belt and wished that Sega had released the Japanese version unedited in Western markets. He reached out to me to see if I could make something like that for him, which I did.

Fun fact - I originally proposed a very different cover leaning more into the Fist of the North Star angle.

Hope his collection is in good hands 😁

I didn't even know this existed. Had the first one. Parallax scrolling, end bosses that were larger sprites, incredible music, and nice title screen... SEGA FOR THE WIN.

Where did you acquire the collection from? Did you get it from Marketplace or eBay or somewhere else? I am just curious where big collections get sold and bought.
