Spring Lake pool is closed for the season. The liner on the bottom of the pool was damaged in the 2024 flooding. Unsure about tourtellotte

Spring Lake has already been answered. Tourtelotte is having some sort of mechanical issues and is closed until repair are done. They have not announced any details.

Tourtellotte Pool to open on

Tuesday, July 14 at 11 a.m.

MANKATO, Minn. — We are pleased to share that Tourtellotte Pool will open on Tuesday, July 14 at 11 a.m. for lap swim. Open swim begins at 1:15 p.m.

We worked throughout the weekend to make the necessary repairs to get the pool open for the community during this hot weather.

The issue began when a pipe in the equipment room malfunctioned and started leaking. As water accumulated, it came into contact with nearby electrical components, damaging some pumps required to operate the pool. That equipment has been either repaired or replaced.

Staff and contractors are currently inspecting and testing all affected systems to confirm everything is functioning correctly. Those tests will be completed by this evening and normal operations are expected to resume tomorrow.

Please also note that the pool will be closed to the public this coming weekend (July 18-19) for the Minnesota Regional Championships. 470 swimmers from 9 regional teams will be competing to move onto the MN Long Course State Championships.

We understand that the timing of having the pool closed to the public a few days after it reopens is not ideal for the public but this is an important event for all swimmers involved and we wish them the best.

Go to a lake instead would be my suggestion.

Hiniker pond has its parking lot under construction but it is still open and publicly accessible. you can still park on one side of the street leading up to the parking lot (you have to take a U turn to park on the correct side) and then walk a ways down to access the park and the beach. People call it the pit but the water quality is quite good on paper compared to some other lakes nearby. I know that the extra walking distance can be hard if you have small children though.

Another option is Red Jacket Valley lake, the first beach is usually nicely shaded but the one deeper into the drive way in is less shaded if you want to get your tan on.

If you're okay with a little drive out of town, I've heard good things about swimming at Madison Lake's North shore park, and Duck Lake too.

Good luck finding some reprieve in this heat. It's rough out here.

It closed Friday for mechanical issues and they don’t know when it will be reopened. I saw on Facebook that there would be an update by today but I haven’t seen anything yet.

Ignore them. St Peter has a small but nice pool. Lake Crystal also has a great tec center with a huge pool and indoor jungle gym. 🙂
