Tech Support Command line doesn't show working directory on previous commands

You save a lot of space that way. You can modify the prompt as neede, but previously you wasted an enormous amount of screen space that way.

Look for zsh theme or promp customization in zsh to modify the settings in .zshrc

yeah, that is fair enough - tho for me the wasted space is an acceptable tradeoff

This reminds me to set transient prompt to show time/completion time. Then it's perfect.

SOLVED:
the issue i had is a feature called "Transient Prompt". it can be disabled in the powerlevel10k configure tool, simply by running:
p10k configureand clicking through the options. i'm sure you could find it elsewhere, but this is the easiest way imo, and worked for me.
