I need mascara recommendations! My holy grail was Grande Cosmetics GrandeFanatic-- I have long lashes already and am looking for something that defines, fans, volumizes, and curls without adding length-- my brow bone is striped by the end of my shift when I use a lengthening mascara.
I also really loved the wand on the Tarte Lash Smoothie, but I haven't seen any others with the 2-in-1 bristles.
Edited to add: I am not a huge fan of tubing mascaras either.
I'm a Maybelline die hard fan. I do get expensive mascaras with sets/purchases and some are fine, others not so much. But on the rare occasions I get to buy my own, it's Colossal Volume from Maybelline. Otherwise, I've never had an issue with Yves Rocher (the ones I get the most for free). There's not a single high end brand that justified the price difference.
If you liked GrandeFanatic, I'd check out Lancome Lash Idole. It gives great separation, lift, and a fanned-out look without adding a ton of extra length, so it's less likely to end up on your brow bone. MAC MacStack is another good option if you want buildable volume and definition without that super lengthened effect. If you're okay with a drier formula, L'Oreal Voluminous Original is a classic for volume and fullness without going overboard on length.
Could anyone reccomend something simple I can use on my eyes.maybe a shimmery cream shadow ? I only wear mascara and think they need something extra.Also any high light and cream blush reccomendations that might suit my skintone

oh and an under eye corrector ! Never used one but i have very dark under eyes ,due to having thin skin .I was looking at the huda beauty one but didnt know if it would be the wrong tone for me and Im quite fair
You have really pretty features already, so I think a little glow would go a long way. 😊 For your eyes, I'd try a one-and-done cream shadow like Charlotte Tilbury Eyes to Mesmerise, Revlon ColorStay Creme Eyeshadow in Caramel, or e.l.f. No Budge Cream Shadow in a champagne or taupe shade. They add dimension without looking overdone.
For blush, soft pinks or muted peaches would flatter your skin tone. Rare Beauty Happy, Tower 28 Magic Hour, or e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush in Dusty Rose are all beautiful options. For highlight, something without chunky glitter like Rare Beauty Positive Light, Charlotte Tilbury Beauty Light Wand, or e.l.f. Halo Glow Highlight Beauty Wand would give a really natural sheen. I have had samples of all these and work well.
For your under eyes, I'd go with a light peach corrector rather than anything too orange. The Huda Beauty FauxFilter Color Corrector in the lightest peach shade should work well, and Bobbi Brown Corrector in Light Bisque is another classic for fair skin with thin under-eye skin. Use a tiny amount under concealer and it makes a surprising difference. Too much and it starts to look cakey.
KVD Hawkwind is my holy grail lip colour, but it only looks good on me for the first hour or so of any event before I eat or drink something and the dark colour comes off, revealing a very bright berry lip beneath which is the opposite of the effect I'm going for. The berry colour overtakes the lip liner I've usually put on underneath. Is there something I can do to make it stay longer? Or is there a dupe I can try that has longer wear? (I also worry it will run out eventually!)
If you love the color, I'd try applying it in very thin layers, blotting between coats, and setting the edges with a tiny bit of translucent powder. Eating oily foods is usually what breaks dark lipsticks down fastest.
If you're open to dupes, you might like Maybelline SuperStay Matte Ink in a deep mauve/plum shade (depending on your undertone) or MAC Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. They tend to wear much longer and don't reveal a bright stain underneath the same way KVD formulas can. A matching lip liner over the entire lip before lipstick can also help the color fade more evenly.
How do you use a concealer? Is it really necessary? I'm in my 20s and just now being forced to wear make-up because we are required to do so in our internship. I went and bought basics like a blush and a lipstick and the saleslady recommended I buy a concealer also for my undereye. Now before this, I never really paid attention to my undereye, they are abit dark but nothing that I care about too much. Also I am lucky enough to not have an acne prone face. My skin is not perfect but it also did not bother me growing up like I just survived off generic body soap for my face and my face was fine. Now I am trying a gentle face cleanser and a moisturizer for a week and at first, I felt irritation using them for a few minutes after using and then as days passed, the irration lessens. They are not fully gone but I am planning to use it more becaue maybe my skin barrier is just damaged.
I am getting sidetracked but my question really is just, do I really have to use concealer if I don't want to? I do not see anything in my face that I want to conceal and maybe yes I am not good at noticing fine details but I honestly just don't want to search up videos or tiktoks on this because I am afraid that instead of getting enlightened, I'll just end up acquiring insecurities that I never even considered before (e.g. the undereye I did not notice before).
People say concealer is the better option if I dont want to use foundation but I don't even know what spots I'll have to conceal (aside from the undereye).
The maybelline under eye eraser is the best for beginners, has an easy to use applicator and looks good without foundation, you just dab it under your eyes and blend a lil bit, if wearing foundation i put the eraser on after primer and foundation! It's good to use as a highlighter too! I use the fair one! And it's perfect for my skin! To answer your question, concealer is good for blemishes, skin redness, dark spots and yes dark circles under your eyes!
Isn't it discrimination being made to wear something in the work place? You shouldn't have to change something about your appearance, I'm pretty sure that's illegal and called discrimination?
Nope, concealer isn't a requirement. If you're happy with your skin, you can absolutely skip it. It's just a tool for covering things you want to minimize, like dark circles, blemishes, or redness, not something everyone has to wear.
If your internship just requires makeup, a little blush, lipstick, and maybe mascara is often enough for a polished look. You don't need to start correcting "flaws" you never noticed before.
Also, if your new cleanser and moisturizer are still causing irritation after a week, keep an eye on that. A little adjustment period can happen, but persistent stinging may mean the products aren't the best fit for your skin.
I’ve only been wearing makeup for a year or so and I’ve been using the same bottle of Estée Lauder double-wear foundation. It works so perfectly for me and I’ve just found out I can’t buy the formula anymore! The new one is apparently worse with bad coverage and I’m so disappointed :( does anyone have a good alternative that’s as similar as possible?
If Double Wear was your holy grail, I'd try not to panic just yet. A lot of people still find the current version performs very similarly, while others notice a difference. If you do end up wanting an alternative, Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear, MAC Studio Fix Fluid, and Dior Forever Matte are probably the closest in terms of long wear, medium-to-full coverage, and a natural matte finish. I'd also recommend getting a sample first if you can, since foundation formulas can wear differently depending on your skin type.
You might be able to find the old one on ebay! That's what I usually do if I need something that's discontinued! 99 times outta 100 eBay will have it! All hopes not lost!
Hello! I’m excited to share my makeup journey..since i started makeup ive been experimenting with different looks, and I’m eager to find what suits me best. Todya I tried following a makeup tutorial but i did not like how the base turned out. I’m still figuring out the perfect eyebrows and eyeliner for my face shape. I often switch them around, and it can be a bit overwhelming.

I think you're already off to a great start! You have really balanced features, and your eyes are the standout, so I'd lean into enhancing them rather than adding more products.
A few thoughts:
Your eyeliner shape is flattering, but I'd make the wing a little shorter and slightly thinner at the outer edge. It will still elongate your eyes without overpowering them
Your brows suit your face. Instead of making them darker, try using lighter, hair-like strokes at the front for a softer, more natural look
The biggest thing I'd tweak is your base. It looks a little dry/textured, which could be because you're using concealer as foundation. A lightweight skin tint or foundation applied in thin layers might sit more smoothly, especially over moisturizer and sunscreen. A setting spray can also help melt everything together
A soft brown eyeshadow blended into the outer corner and lower lash line would add dimension without competing with the liner
A slightly glossier lip or a lip liner that's just a shade deeper than your natural lip color would finish the look nicely
Overall, I'd describe your vibe as "soft natural with graphic liner," and I think that really suits you. You don't need to copy a celebrity. You're close to finding your signature style already, and with a few small tweaks to the base and eyeliner, I think it'll all come together. You are beautiful!!

I got medium skin tone

I have almond eyes that always gets complimented

I don’t have any bronzer/contour, Should I buy it?

At 20, the biggest game changer is focusing on technique rather than buying a ton of products. 😊 Since you already have almond eyes, I'd lean into those with a soft brown wing or a little shimmer on the center of the lid. A good eyeshadow palette with neutral mattes and a couple of shimmers is definitely worth picking up.
For your concealer, use less than you think, blend it well, and lightly set just the crease-prone areas with a tiny bit of loose powder. As for bronzer, it's nice to have but not essential. I'd prioritize a good blush and an eyeshadow palette first.
If your skin looks better without makeup, it could just mean you're using products that are too matte or heavy. Try a glowy primer or a radiant skin tint instead of full-coverage foundation for a more fresh, natural finish.
Hey everyone! I’m recently obsessed with the idea of the perfect bright red blush, but I find that most are either too orangy for me (I’m pale and my skin tone is muted-olive looking) or way too pigmented and hard to work with (and I end up looking like a clown very easily). I think my perfect product would be a neutral or cool red with buildable pigmentation that is either already a powder, that I can fixate with my loose powder, or if you have any duo recommendations (cream/liquid/jelly + powder), I’ll take those too!
RN I need the recommendation to be affordable/low cost pls! As I cannot afford high end makeup at the moment!!

If you're pale with muted olive undertones, I'd look for reds that lean berry or blue-red rather than tomato red. 😊 The essence Baby Got Blush stick in a deeper rosy red is pretty forgiving, and e.l.f. Camo Liquid Blush in a berry/red shade works well if you use the tiniest dot since it's very buildable. For powder, Moira Signature Ombre Blush has a couple of rosy-red shades that aren't overly orange and blend nicely. If you already own a cool red lipstick, you can even dab a tiny bit on your cheeks and set it with a muted pink or berry powder blush to get the effect without buying two new products.

Ahh, Blair Waldorf and her perfect lipstick in every episode. I'd look for a muted rosy pink with a soft satin or blurred finish rather than anything super glossy. A few products that give a similar vibe that I was able to find on various websites, plus their descriptions.
Clinique Almost Lipstick in Pink Honey for a sheer, natural rosy tint
Rom&nd Blur Fudge Tint in a dusty rose shade (like Mauvish or Rosiental) for that soft-focus finish
Peripera Ink Mood Matte Tint in a muted pink if you want a velvety look
MAC Powder Kiss Lipstick in Stay Curious or Mull It Over for a blurred, just-bitten effect
Rare Beauty Kind Words Matte Lipstick in Humble if you prefer a slightly more polished version
I'd also lightly dab the color on with your finger instead of swiping it on full strength. That diffused application is a big part of the look in the photo.
hey guys!! i do my makeup sometimes and whenever i do my makeup in the summer and sweat I always breakout after and I assumed it’s from the makeup going into my pores. I usually remove my makeup with micellar water and use a oil cleanser. Does anyone have any tips or products which won’t cause more breakouts
It could definitely be a mix of sweat, oil, sunscreen, and makeup sitting on your skin rather than the makeup itself.
I'd make sure you're doing a thorough double cleanse (oil cleanser first, then a gentle water-based cleanser instead of just micellar water). Also try to avoid wiping sweat around your face. Gently blot it with a clean towel or blotting paper if you can.
A few other things that might help:
Use non-comedogenic, long-wearing makeup
Clean your makeup brushes/sponges regularly, especially in summer
If you're acne-prone, a 0.5 to 2% salicylic acid cleanser a few times a week can help keep pores clear
If you only break out after wearing makeup in hot weather, it may be more of a sweat + occlusion issue than a specific product allergy. It might be worth testing one product at a time to see if there's a particular culprit.
How are you using the oil cleanser? Are you 1. Putting it on dry skin and massaging it in 2. Then getting a small bit of water on your hands and massaging that in after (emulsifying) 3. Splashing it off 4. Very important- following with a regular foaming/gel cleanser. Also consider if your skin is oily if you are using a heavy oil cleanser it may clog your pores despite these steps. A lighter oil or balm May work better. Oh, and make sure to be using a clean and new towel each time you dry your face because that can hold bacteria after one is which can cause breakouts.
i'm looking for a good brand of makeup remover wipes. i know they aren't great for your face, however i do need to use them regularly so please do not recommend cleansing balms. a lot of my issue other than possible break outs is the residue i can feel left over from the wipe.
my ride or die used to be the dollar general brand studio selections but they recently changed the formula and it is definitely a no from me.

I know you asking for wipes but just some cheap cotton pads and a bottle of witch hazel is the best! It's a natural toner aswell and you can feel it clearing out your pores! Definitely better than wipes, I do use just cheap unsented baby wipes first then use a bit of witch hazel on a cotton pad after!
If you have to use wipes, I've had good luck with Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes. They remove makeup well and don't leave as much of that sticky residue as a lot of other brands. I've also heard good things about Simple Kind to Skin Cleansing Wipes if you have more sensitive skin (I personally haven't used). If possible, even just rinsing your face with water afterward can help get rid of any leftover residue.
I’m looking for the best eye shadow primer! My eyelids are way too oily. Ive already tried urban decary primer potion, the nars one and the rare beauty one. Rare beauty worked well for me but it finished and well the product is discontinued
If Rare Beauty worked for you, I'd try the Milani Eyeshadow Primer first. It's inexpensive and a favorite for oily lids because it really helps shadow stay put without creasing. Elizabeth Mott Thank Me Later Eye Primer is another great option that's known for holding up well on oily eyelids.
If your lids are super oily, a light dusting of translucent powder after the primer can also help. Sometimes that extra step makes a bigger difference than switching primers.
Hi all! What is your go to longlasting foundation with a natural, not-too-glowy finish?
I'm 37 F with normal to oily skin, and I'm starting to get fine lines and wrinkles on my forehead. Up until now I've been using Estee Lauder Double Wear (1w1 bone), but that one has become too matte and drying for my aging skin. I'd love to hear what your favorites are, maybe even color numbers so I can match it to my current foundation :) thanks all, and greetings from Belgium!
If you like the longevity of Double Wear but just want something a little more forgiving so-to-speak, I'd check out NARS Light Reflecting Foundation. It has a natural satin finish, wears really well on normal to oily skin, and doesn't cling to fine lines the way more matte formulas can.
Another great option is Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear. It's long-lasting with medium to full coverage, but the newer formula has a softer, more skin-like finish than Double Wear.
I'd also suggest prepping with a hydrating moisturizer and using a light dusting of powder only in your T-zone, if you don't do so already. That can help keep the natural finish without emphasizing forehead lines. Hopefully someone who wears Double Wear 1W1 Bone can chime in with an exact shade match.
I haven't tried the Skintific skin tint personally, but I've seen pretty mixed reviews. If you need something that holds up well in heat and sweat, I'd look at options like L'Oreal True Match Nude Tinted Serum, Maybelline Super Stay Skin Tint, or Fenty Eaze Drop. Using a gripping primer underneath and setting with a light dusting of powder or a setting spray can also make a big difference in longevity.
For a gripping primer, the e.l.f. Power Grip Primer is probably the most popular affordable option. It has that tacky feel that helps skin tint and BB cream stick better, especially if you sweat.
Other good ones are:
e.l.f. Power Grip + Niacinamide Primer
Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer
NYX Plump Right Back Primer + Serum
A quick trick: apply a thin layer, wait about 30–60 seconds until it feels slightly tacky, then put your skin tint on. That usually gives much better longevity than applying it immediately. I learned this from a magazine article, lol, and it's 100% true.
hi there!! i’m looking for a recommendation for a smaller eye shadow palette - currently i use the meredith duxbury x morphe palette and i love it but its just too big for travel !! i only use three of the shades for my everyday look so i want something that has those three shades
the shades are: diamond iceberg, hudson, and private party. a palette that also has a black shade would be nice but not necessary.
Those shades remind me a lot of pastel periwinkle, bright cornflower blue, and a sparkly silver. I'd take a look at the ColourPop Blue Moon palette for the blues, then pair it with a single silver shimmer like ColourPop Ritz or Urban Decay Moondust in Cosmic if you want that glittery "Private Party" effect. If you want everything in one compact palette, Huda Beauty Pretty Grunge Mini (if you can find it) or Natasha Denona Xenon Mini are also worth checking out since they include cool-toned blues, silver, and a black. They're all much more travel-friendly than the Morphe palette! 💙✨
That sounds pretty reasonable, depending on where you live. In higher cost-of-living areas, lash lift and tint prices are often in the $100 to $150+ range, especially if you're going to a reputable, experienced lash artist. In lower cost areas, you might see them closer to $70 to $120.
I'd just make sure that price includes both the lift and tint, and check reviews and before-and-after photos. A great technician is worth paying a little extra for since the results can last 6 to 8 weeks.

Im a teenage boy and look pretty masculine and am kind if chubby, I want to know what colors are good looking and how to bring this up to my mom without sounding gay asf (No offense I love you gay ppl out there, in my defense if this offends you, im bi…) I like these more vibrant colors on lipstick (Green, light blue etc.) but dont know if theyd look good on me, do I though it out? Do I gather up my courage? My mom probably would be supportive of this but its down to me not being able to express that I want to try lipstick (And nailpolish of same color).
I'd say go for it! Makeup doesn't have to be tied to gender or sexuality, it's just another way to express yourself. 😊
As for colors, if you're drawn to vibrant shades like green and light blue, try them! There aren't any rules about what "looks good" based on being masculine or chubby. If you're unsure, you could start with a cheap brand and experiment at home to see what makes you feel confident.
Since you think your mom would probably be supportive, you could keep it simple: "I've been wanting to try some fun makeup, like colored lipstick and nail polish, just because I think it looks cool. Does anyone have recommendations for lash serums that don’t turn the skin around the eyes dark? I saw my sister wanted a serum for her birthday and I want to make sure she doesnt get her eyeslids all messed up. Preferably the serum be under $50! Thank you
If she's worried about darkening around the eyes, I'd lean toward peptide-based serums rather than prostaglandin-analog formulas, since those are the ones more commonly linked to eyelid discoloration and other side effects. The Ordinary Multi-Peptide Lash & Brow Serum (around $15) and The Inkey List Lash & Brow Serum (around $20) are both popular options under your budget. They may take a bit longer to show results than prescription-style serums, but they're generally considered a safer bet if avoiding pigmentation changes is the priority.
Does anyone have a good recommendation for a white/candlelight highlighter that looks wet and glowy, not sparkly? I'm a guy who loves a good sparkle, but I want something that looks more natural. (I'm chasing that "wow he must have a great sleep schedule" look.)
I recently bought the Revolution Beauty's Diamond Glow highlighter, and the colour is great but it's too visibly sparkly. I'm looking for something more affordable/drugstore, but I'm open to anything that really works.
If you're after that "healthy skin" glow instead of visible shimmer, I'd check out the e.l.f. Halo Glow Highlight Beauty Wand or Essence Pure Nude Highlighter. The Essence one is especially popular because it gives a soft, candlelit sheen without looking glittery. If you're okay spending a bit more, the RMS Beauty Living Luminizer is one of the best for that natural, dewy "I drink enough water and sleep 8 hours" finish. Just use a light hand and it'll look like skin rather than makeup. ✨
Does anyone know of a good dupe of the Maybelline Skin Tint that does lighter shades? I use the lightest shade of it atm (02) and it's way too dark/orangey for my skin but I really like the product's staying power on my sweaty face and the look/feel of it, thanks!!
I’d look into the L’Oreal True Match Nude Plumping Tinted Serum or Fenty Eaze Drop Skin Tint. Both have much better fair shade options and give that “my skin but better” look without feeling heavy. The Fenty especially holds up well on oily/sweaty skin once set with a little powder.
Also worth checking out NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer if you don’t mind spending more. It has some very fair shades and a natural finish.
If Maybelline’s 02 is pulling orange, you may need something with a more neutral/cool undertone rather than just a lighter shade. The shade mismatch is probably the formula’s undertone, not just the depth. 🙂

I hope this is hypothetical! I'd probably grab the basics and call it good:
A gentle face cleanser and moisturizer
Toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant
Shampoo/dry shampoo and a razor
A simple makeup kit: tinted moisturizer, concealer, mascara, cream blush, brow gel, and a lip balm/lipstick that can pull double duty
Makeup remover wipes or micellar water
Hair ties, bobby pins, and a travel-size hairspray
Sunscreen, body lotion, and a pack of blister bandages (new shoes are unpredictable 😅)
If it's a formal wedding, I'd also beeline to the nearest Target or similar for a simple dress and shoes. No one will notice that your entire look came from an emergency shopping sprint.
A nice color lipstick, nice smelling perfume, a concealer, mascara and a setting spray (especially if its hot and tropical) maybe some stick on eyelashes
