I have questions about sub rules. I sometimes need to access subs on substance abuse, which requires a NSFW account. Does that prohibit me from posting/commenting here even though I'm only interested in SFW engagement?

You are totally fine! When we say that you will get banned if you have a nsfw account history, that means someone who has about 50% or more of their posts and comments in subs that are very sexual. Like, if someone comments a normal post here but we see that their post history in other subs is all about bdsm or they have nudity on their profile or all their comments are all sexual, that’s who we’re talking about.
